A billboard located near a busy highway in Kentucky was vandalized with an anti-gun message on Monday.Commuters on I-65 in Louisville noticed the billboard read "KILL THE NRA" on Monday morning. (KGTV) — Southbound lanes of Interstate 405 in Westchester were shut down on a busy Friday afternoon following a police pursuit.Six lanes of traffic built up for miles behind the closure just after Braddock Dr., after a police pursuit ended with seven home invasion suspects taken into custody, according to KABC.Los Angeles Police stopped a white SUV on I-405, forcing each suspect to exit and lay down on the freeway before they were arrested, helicopter footage from the scene showed.Traffic was opened back up just before 3:45 p.m. Even after lanes were reopened, heavy Friday traffic blanketed the southbound side of the freeway.Footage of the standstill below: 675

Scott Peters described his trip to a migrant detention center near McAllen, Texas, as "stunningly depressing.""The single men were being held in a series of rooms, each built for say 8-10 people and I think they had 40 people in them ... The faces of these men just looking out with desperate looks through these windows, some of them shirtless, it's obviously very hot in those places," the Democratic congressman said of his July 13 visit.Peters described the stench from the facility due to the inability for the men to shower. He said another holding facility the size of a convention center, had women and children in rooms divided by chain-link fence. "For the small children there's a small area where they can have toys. There's a few tragic sights you see of four or five-year-olds who are unaccompanied," he said.He said San Diego isn't dealing with nearly as many migrants compared to Texas, "the night before we arrived they picked up 2,000 people." (KGTV) — The number of troops stationed at the U.S.-Mexico border will decrease from 5,600 to about 4,000 troops and their deployment will be extended into January, according to the Associated Press.The AP, citing U.S. officials speaking on the condition of anonymity, said a formal request submitted by the Department of Homeland Security Friday requested the additional support. The request has yet to be approved by Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, though military officials have been working with DHS to help develop the request, the AP reports.Troops were deployed by President Donald Trump in response to a migrant caravan from Central America. Of the 5,600 troops at the U.S. border, about 1,800 are currently in California.RELATED: Additional troops being sent to California border after migrants rush San Ysidro port of entryEarlier this week, the Department of Defense approved moving 300 troops, made up of mostly military police and engineers, from Texas and Arizona to the California border.
