SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A man fired as many as five shots at a parked car in San Ysidro Wednesday morning, San Diego Police said.The shooting happened at 7 a.m. at an apartment complex near West San Ysidro Boulevard and Dairy Mart Road, according to officers.No one was hurt by the gunfire.Police said the man surrendered peacefully when they arrived at the scene. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A Hillcrest man is still recovering in the hospital after he says he was attacked, leaving him with a head injury and partial paralysis.Ricky Jackle says he was walking with a friend on Robinson Avenue in Hillcrest October 14.“I was out with a friend of mine. Had a few drinks at The Rail.” According to Jackle, that’s when the assault took place.“Last thing I remember, there was a confrontation between the person I was with and somebody else. I tried to get in the middle of it to stop in. I was pushed on my chest, went backwards and hit my head on the curb. Apparently that’s when I bled out. I heard voices, by friend’s voice behind me,” said Jackle.Jackle says after the incident, his friend fled the scene.In tears, Jackle describes how the assault has changed his life. “I can’t work, I can’t do the things I used to do. I’m scared.”“I don’t think anyone should be attacked or a victim like I was, I don’t think it’s right.”While under observation at the hospital, Jackle began to feel numbness in his hands and arms which resulted in loss of movement in his hands, arms and legs, according to a GoFundMe post.“The injury caused swelling which compressed his spinal cord resulting in loss of movment [sic] and some paralysis,” according to the post.Jackle’s cousin, Derrick Roach spoke about the friend who left Jackle following the attack. “He said the reason I left Ricky is with all the blood I thought he was dead. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A man fell to his death from state Route 125 in the Bonita area Tuesday morning after a crash in which his car struck and killed a deer on the freeway.Friends told 10News the victim was Martin Lapisch, 44, a Chula Vista resident who is survived by his wife, Linda, and 15-month-old son Kenneth. He was a German immigrant who became a U.S. citizen in 2003, friends said.“He was a new dad with big dreams, whose life was cut short after a terrible, early morning accident," said a close friend of the victim. “He was a loving father, husband, brother and an awesome friend. He always helped people in need and never asked anything in return," said Lapisch's friend Peter Kritzko.Friends and family gathered together after the incident at Lapisch's home and spoke with 10News but asked not to be identified at this time.California Highway Patrol Sgt. Steve Jio said they received reports just before 4:45 a.m. of a car that hit a deer and then stalled on northbound SR-125 just before the transition to state Route 54.Jio said responding officers and fire crews arrived to find the car in the No. 2 lane abandoned with the dead deer in front of it. 1207

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A new investigation by CNN reveals at least 103 incidents of Uber drivers being accused of sexually assaulting or abusing passengers in the last four years. One of those drivers was John David Sanchez, a San Diego area man who was arrested, convicted and sentenced to 80 years in prison. Investigators say he drugged and assaulted multiple victims. Uber issued the following statement that reads in part: 462

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A man was arrested Thursday after attacking police with railroad spikes and rocks in a Barrio Logan train yard, police said.San Diego Police were called to the BNSF Railway Yard along Harbor Drive around 10 a.m. to reports of a trespasser. Officers arrived to find a man who had armed himself with a stick and railroad spikes, police said.The suspect reportedly threw the spike at officers and fled under a rail car, refusing to come out. The man also threatened to kill a police K-9 on scene, SDPD added.Police created "decision making space" and tried to talk the suspect into surrendering. After those efforts failed, officers used shotgun beanbags, pepper balls, and eventually a K-9 officer to get the man to surrender. He was pulled from under the railcar and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries, including dog bites, police confirmed.No officers were injured during the event. 927
