HANGZHOU, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- A senior Chinese official has urged members of the Communist Party of China (CPC) working in the country's non-public economic sector to work hard to make their companies into advanced and excellent businesses.The call was made by Li Yuanchao, chief of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, during a two-day study tour to Zhejiang Province, one of the regions where the non-public economic sector has been highly developed, on east China coast.The tour ended Friday.During his stay in Zhejiang, Li visited a number of non-public businesses in two cities of Huzhou and Hangzhou in order to gain a first-hand information regarding how CPC members in those ventures have been doing under a Party campaign which encourages CPC members to excel at their workposts.While addressing a symposium held Friday in Hangzhou, the provincial capity, Li said the non-public sector was "an important force for developing the socialist economy with Chinese characteristics."Li added that Party organizations and its members at non-public enterprises should try to ensure that their firms take a correct orientation of development.

KIEV, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine's coal industry ministry and China's state development bank reached an agreement on cooperation in the coal industry Thursday."We have signed a document which provides an algorithm for further implementation of investment projects," Yuriy Yaschenko, the Ukrainian coal industry minister, told reporters after a meeting with Gao Jian, deputy head of the State Development Bank of China.The memorandum applies to three investment projects to be launched in the Lugansk and Donetsk regions in eastern Ukraine, Yaschenko said."Chinese experts have already arrived in Ukraine, they are now visiting the shafts. They will inspect the technical condition and consider how to implement these projects," Yaschenko said.Gao said China's State Development Bank is willing to expand cooperation with Ukraine not only in the coal industry but also in agriculture, infrastructure construction and other fields.Ukraine's coal industry and China's State Development Bank signed a framework agreement on financial cooperation on Sept. 2 during Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych's visit to China.Under the agreement, Ukraine's coal ministry presented to the Chinese side a package of seven investment projects with an estimated cost of more than one billion U.S. dollars.

It also improves people's living standards and expands domestic demand, helping adjust China's economic structure," said a statement issued after an executive meeting of the State Council, China's Cabinet, presided over by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao.The government will prioritize development of housekeeping services, community services, senior citizen care, and home care for the sick to meet the basic needs of families, the statement said.Delivery of household necessities and home education may also be developed in line with local conditions to meet the special needs of households, the statement added.The government encourages business people to invest in the home services industry to nurture a domestic home services market, it said.The statement also said public employment service providers must improve their services and offer free career counseling for home service providers.The government also promised to intensify supervision of home service companies to safeguard consumer rights.It also promised to take measures to safeguard service providers' rights to reasonable salaries.
