Inmates in Iowa's correctional system are suing the state to strike down a recently passed law that has banned pornography in prison, CNN affiliate KCCI reported. Iowa attempted to pass a similar law 30 years ago, but a federal judge struck the law down for being too vague. One expert told KCCI that the new law is more specific, and will likely withstand judicial review. "Prisoners generally have rights to access -- absent some incredibly dangerous person -- (including) reading materials," Drake University Constitutional Law Center Director Mark Kende. The hearings are being conducted by the “Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee,” and they could give approval within 72 hours of the first hearing taking place. WHAT HAPPENS AFTER FDA APPROVAL After FDA gives the go ahead, the CDC will finalize who should get it first. The good news is that the CDC have already released who they think should be first in line. Earlier this week, an advisory committee to the CDC recommended health care workers and those in nursing homes receive access almost immediately. Ultimately though, governors will serve as "air traffic controllers" directing which specific facility has access to the first doses of vaccines. If the current timeline holds, those orders could start going out on December 11 or December 12. AVERAGE AMERICANS TIMELINE AND POTENTIAL ISSUES If you are not deemed a high priority, it will still likely be months before you are able to get a vaccine. Some analysis point to Februrary, but other analysis point to April or May. Some potential issues for distribution include the temperature the vaccines must be stored at. The Moderna vaccine can stay in traditional refrigerators at around 40 degrees or so but Pfizer's must be stored at -94 degrees, which may be trickier to transport in more rural parts of the country. "If you have to tear something down in order to build something else, it takes time and money."Some of the city's larger projects are in Mira Mesa - where Casa Mira View will have about 2,000 apartments when complete.And to the west at Hansen's Aggregates, a quarry that runs through Carroll Canyon, Shea and Lennar are planning to build what's called 3 Roots. The complex would have 1,800 units - including 186 single-family homes, 981 condos, and 633 apartments (180 of which will be affordable). The complex is about to go through environmental review. Still, residents are already expressing concerns over impacts like traffic."I want people to have affordable housing, that's very important. In hopes of boosting international travel, American Airlines said it will begin offering coronavirus testing on some international flights leaving Miami, as well as flights to Hawaii out of Dallas.In cooperation with the governments of Jamaica and the Bahamas, American Airlines will be testing passengers for the coronavirus before flights out of Miami starting next month.The airline said that flights from Miami to Jamaica will allow for Jamaica residents to take a test, which will allow for a 14-day mandatory quarantine to be waved if the test comes back negative. The goal of the program is to eventually open the country to US citizens looking for a getaway.American Airlines said coronavirus testing will also be available for those flying from Miami to the Bahamas. Details of that program are still being worked out.Preflight testing will also be available for those flying from Dallas to Hawaii. The program will begin Oct. 15, and allow travelers three options: In at-home test, an in-person test at an urgent care, an or on-site rapid test available at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport.
