An Arizona woman is suing Red Lobster after she says she contracted E. coli from tainted lettuce. She’s the first person in Arizona to file a lawsuit connected to an E. coli outbreak stemming from romaine lettuce from Yuma.In a 17-page lawsuit, a woman named Rosalie Styles claims she was hospitalized with cramps, nausea, blood in her stool, all of it coming after a meal at a Red Lobster in Peoria. According to the lawsuit, Styles ordered a Caesar salad on or around March 23 at Red Lobster off 79th Avenue and Bell Road. Seven days later, doctors told her she tested positive for E. coli. The lawsuit says Styles spent three days in the hospital. She and her attorneys now believe the romaine lettuce she consumed came from Yuma. They also believe Red Lobster is liable for her getting sick. The complaint states that because of the restaurant's actions, Styles "was forced to endure great pain, suffering, and inconvenience and may endure the same in the future."Styles remained hospitalized until April 2 and was allegedly still recovering as of May 2, the date of the complaint.“E. coli is a really serious infection, it can lead to hospitalization, kidney failure, and sometimes death,” said Jessica Rigler with the state Department of Health Services.  In fact, state health officials say 52 percent of the 121 people diagnosed, ended up in the ER during this latest outbreak. Eight people have been diagnosed with the infection in Arizona. One person in California died from their illness.“This is, however, our largest E. coli outbreak since 2006 when we had an outbreak associated with spinach,” said Rigler. More than 200 people were infected that year. “Right now the federal government is conducting a lot of traces back to find out if they can identify exactly where that lettuce was contaminated, was it at the farm, was it in a processing plant,” Rigler said. So far, state health officials say until the all clear is given, don’t take any chances and steer clear of romaine lettuce. “It’s possible we’ll be able to call a close to this outbreak soon, but we need to keep monitoring for the next ten or so days to make sure we don’t identify any additional cases,” said Rigler. “If you don’t know where your romaine lettuce came from, don’t eat it. An Uber driver says she was carjacked at gunpoint in North Las Vegas and ended in Kingman, Arizona. But she wasn't alone.Donnelda Schuele says an innocent passenger was also caught in the middle of the ordeal that crossed state lines."At one point I was thinking, my poor passenger is really gonna die," Schuele said.Schuele's Saturday Uber pool ride almost turned deadly. She said she picked up a passenger through Uber pool -- a service where drivers can pick-up more than one unrelated customer. She then got another 'ping' to pick up a new customer near 5th Street and Lake Mead Boulevard. A man and a woman got into the backseat at that stop. Not long after she started driving, Schuele says the man pulled out a gun."He goes, 'Go straight. I don't care who you hit. Go straight,'" Schuele said.Hopping on the freeway, they started to make their way down to Arizona."Before the Lake Mead exit, he shoots the gun in the car. He shot it through the floor of the car," Schuele said.She says the man also pistol-whipped the other male passenger sitting in the front seat of the car. "He had hit him on the head with the gun and cracked him really good at the back of his skull,"  Schuele said.The man with the gun kept on telling her to drive towards the mountains."He goes, that's where I'm going to be dumping you guys," Schuele said.She says the man shot the gun out the window several times, hitting a commercial truck."The other passenger is flipping out. I mean he is literally flipping out," Schuele said.As they were passing by Hoover Dam, Schuele says the suspect ordered her and the other passenger to get out of the car. That's when they were able to get help.Arizona troopers said the carjackers continued driving south on State Route 93, leading them on a pursuit. Even though they ran over strip spikes, the alleged carjackers did not stop until they crashed into another vehicle. The man and woman tried to run away but troopers were able to catch them at that point. It was the end of a nightmare for Schuele and her passenger."Thank god for my blessings and that I was able to keep a cool head," Schuele said.An Uber spokesperson says it is investigating the incident and will support police investigation in any way it can. 2355

An officer-involved shooting resulted in a fatality at a Baton Rouge apartment complex Monday evening, according to a Louisiana State Police spokesman.The Baton Rouge police officer was escorting an employee from the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) to the Palms apartment complex when a struggle ensued, culminating in the fatal shooting, spokesman Bryan Lee told reporters at a news conference.Lee did not specify whether the victim was involved in the DCFS visit to the apartment complex. A large crowd gathered near the shooting scene, according to CNN affiliate WBRZ.The Louisiana State Police Crime Lab and East Baton Rouge District Attorney's Office are currently at the apartment complex investigating the incident, according to Lee.The identities of the shooting victim and officer are not being released at this time, but Lee told reporters the officer sustained a minor injury and was wearing a body camera at the time of the shooting.Shooting victim 'not handcuffed'East Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar C.
