(KGTV) -- Crews were able to stop an eight-acre brush fire in Lakeside Sunday afternoon.According to Cal Fire, the fire broke out on the 14000 block of El Monte Road around 2:30 p.m. The fire burned in a river bottom and scorched eight acres. By about 3:45 p.m., the forward spread had been completely stopped, the agency tweeted.No structures were threatened and no injuries reported. 420

More details have not yet been released.Six firefighters have now died in connection with a wave of massive wildfires that struck Northern California in the past weeks.The deadliest wildfire, the Carr Fire, has left a total of eight people dead, including three firefighters.Two firefighters have died fighting a fire near Yosemite National Park.The Mendocino Complex — actually twin fires being fought together — has burned for more than two weeks. (KGTV) -- The man caught on video being arrested outside a La Mesa trolley stop has filed a lawsuit against the City of La Mesa.The lawsuit was filed by Amaurie Johnson against the City of La Mesa, Matt Dages, and six John Does.The lawsuit alleges arrest without a probable cause, negligence, excessive force, and violence because of race.The suit comes after viral video showed Johnson’s controversial arrest outside a La Mesa trolley stop in June. In the video, an officer is seen pushing Johnson into a sitting position on a bench. Mr. Johnson and I are discussing our options as far as moving forward with a complaint with the city of la mesa and potentially taking this to state or federal court," Johnson's attorney Troy Owens said in a previous news release. Troy Owens, Johnson's attorney, told ABC 10News, "Mr. Johnson does not feel that his situation or his experience is unique. One year after the Lancaster District Medical Director denied 13-year-old Trista Blasz the chance to wrestle on the JV team, writing "girls don't play boys sports in Lancaster Schools," Trista has won dozens of tournaments and competitions."It’s been like all wrestling. Non-stop wrestling," Trista said, "I’ve gotten first at like all of them. And just been like undefeated in like all of them. I think I’ve only lost a couple times at them." The Lancaster 8th grader has been traveling around the country competing in tournaments against both girls and boys.11-year-old Max McCarthy has witnessed Trista's success for five years. They have wrestled together at the Bison Wrestling Club for years. The two frequently win tournaments together, where he watches how competition views her."Sometimes they think, ‘Oh, she’s just a girl, who cares.' But some boys are like 'Oh, this is Trista. She’s good.' I wrestle her. I don’t treat her different," Max said.Just a year ago, Trista was treated different. This year, Trista's mom Danielle Blasz said it's a much easier process to have Trista evaluated to play on the high school boys team."They said she doesn’t have to take her APP test because her score was amazing last year. LA MESA (KGTV)- Friday evening could have been one of the last times the community sees the farmers market on La Mesa Boulevard. On Tuesday the La Mesa City Council will vote to determine the future of the farmers market. Scott Strickland is a vendor at the La Mesa Farmers Market and has been for four years. Strickland tells 10News, “it would be about probably 25 percent of my gross revenue.” Strickland does not want the farmers market to leave La Mesa Boulevard. The farmers market has been at this location for one year and Strickland says it’s been the best location for the vendors, “I would say maybe 10 times the money we were making over there.” Friday, 10News tried talking with business owners who oppose the farmers market being on La Mesa Boulevard. They all have brick and mortar locations that they say are suffering on Friday evenings. One restaurant owner showed us empty tables during their happy hour, another shared they had to cut down staffing on Friday nights because they were losing about three thousand dollars.
