A California coffee shop refused service to a customer last week after he insulted a Muslim woman and her headscarf.According to KTLA-TV, the video was shot inside of a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf store in Riverside, California on Friday. The video opens with a man standing in line for coffee."I said, 'Is this Halloween or something?" the man says."Why did you say that?" the woman filming asks."Why wouldn't I? Why wouldn't I?"The woman filming the encounter then pans over to show herself wearing a niqāb, a Muslim headscarf worn by women that covers all but a woman's eyes."What's wrong with me?" the woman asks again."I don't know, you tell me what's wrong with you," the man says.  705

A Brooklyn professional chef has made it her mission to feed the hungry in her community and help formerly incarcerated women get back on their feet.Sharon Richardson is the CEO of JustSoulCatering.Richardson and her team were preparing a feast on the sidewalk on Hicks Street Thursday.Richardson started her catering business after she got out of prison ten years ago.She created a nonprofit called Reentry Rocks, a culinary internship program that works directly with women just like her.Richardson said she only hires women coming out of prison.“The barriers are hard when you come home and you need a job. We give back food to the community. We know what’s it like to be without,” said Richardson, packing plates of food to go.Richardson decided to give food away, during the pandemic, preparing hundreds of meals for the hungry, twice a week. And, the donations started pouring in.She partners with Pastor Rodney Plummer of the Calvary Baptist Church of Red Hook.Over a hundred women have successfully gone through the Reentry Rocks program and dozens are now working with JustSoulCatering.WPIX's Monica Morales first reported this story. 1151

A gang member accused of fatally shooting a Navy man and wounding his cousin in an attack outside a Horton Plaza comedy club has been ordered to stand trial.Arrow Morris is charged in the death of 43-year-old James Celani, a decorated Navy pilot.Morris will stand trial on murder, attempted murder and other charges.RELATED: Woman testifies that she saw boyfriend shoot two men at Horton PlazaCelani and his cousin were enjoying a night out when Celani acknowledged the defendant who shot the victim in the head and chest, according to Deputy District Attorney Amy Maund. A large group of Magnum, P.I. cosplayers were reportedly ejected from Comerica Park during Saturday's Detroit Tigers game.According to the News-Herald, the 45 men were dressed as Tom Selleck's famous character, Thomas Magnum, for a bachelor party. The group also included a cardboard cutout of Selleck as Magnum.Chris Tuccini, the groom's younger brother, said to the News-Herald the group was told they were ejected because one of them was smoking and they were catcalling."I don't know how that made us all guilty," he said.  555

A letter that's being circulated on Capitol Hill reveals multiple incoming freshmen -- who were largely noncommittal on the House speaker race during their campaigns --- will in fact support Nancy Pelosi.The letter, obtained by CNN, is still being circulated and so far includes 61 signatures from women incumbents and members-elect. It comes as Pelosi is shoring up support from the progressive base this week with endorsements from large and powerful groups, as well as prominent progressives in Congress — a move that will put pressure on wayward Democrats to back her bid.MoveOn, Indivisible and Tax March were among the progressive groups that threw their support behind Pelosi on Thursday and Friday, soon after she met with the Congressional Progressive Caucus. All told, 34 outside groups have backed the California Democrat. Also this week, a group of 100 LGBTQ advocates and leaders endorsed Pelosi in a letter.Rep. Pramila Jayapal, a co-chair of the progressive caucus along with Rep.
