BOSTON (AP) — Federal agencies say cybercriminals are unleashing a major ransomware assault against the U.S. health care system, targeting several hospitals and medical facilities. Independent security experts say it has already hobbled at least five U.S. hospitals this week, and could potentially impact hundreds more. In a joint alert, the FBI and two federal agencies say they have credible information of an imminent cybercrime threat to U.S. hospitals and health care providers. A release from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency says they, the FBI and the Department of Health and Human Services "assess malicious cyber actors are targeting the HPH Sector with Trickbot malware, often leading to ransomware attacks, data theft, and the disruption of healthcare services."They say malicious groups are targeting the sector with ransomware that could lead to data theft and disruption of health care services. They recommend hospitals and health facilities patch operating systems and update software, use multi-factor authentication when possible, disable unused ports, and audit logs and user accounts to ensure accounts are legitimate and accessing appropriate areas of the network.Although the attacks coincide with the U.S. presidential election, there is no immediate indication they are motivated by anything but profit. 1357

BOULEVARD, Calif. (KGTV) — Firefighters worked quickly to douse flames from a brush fire along Interstate 8 in the East County Saturday.The Crestwood Fire ignited near Old Highway 80 at Tierra Del Sol Road, and grew to 32 acres, according to Cal Fire San Diego. Crews were able to hold the fire at Old Highway 80. As of 8:52 a.m., Cal Fire said crews said the fire was 45% contained.No structures were damaged or threatened, though six homes were evacuated. No injuries were reported.About 25 engines, eight hand crews, and two dozers were called out to the fire. BARRON COUNTY, Wis. - CNN has obtained the dispatch log for the 911 call placed from the home of missing teen Jayme Closs’s parents, James Closs, 56, and Denise Closs, 46, in Barron County, Wisconsin.During a 911 call shortly before 1 a.m. Monday, the dispatcher heard a disturbance in the background. No one spoke directly to the dispatcher. BONSALL, Calif. (KGTV) — A Carlsbad man was found dead after his vehicle was located down an embankment in the Bonsall area.A 77-year-old man was reported missing to Carlsbad Police earlier on Saturday before California Highway Patrol was also notified about the man. A location search of the man's mobile phone led authorities and family members to a location at Old Highway 395 and Interstate 15.CHP and family members responded to the scene, where a 2016 Mercedes was found down the embankment on Old Highway 395, below the road level and out of view from traffic. The missing man was found dead inside the vehicle. It wasn't clear what caused the crash, but CHP said impairment is not believed to be a factor.Anyone who may have information on the crash is asked to call CHP at 858-637-3800. 803
