GUATAY, Calif. (KGTV) -- A family in the East County is hoping someone has information about a bicycle accident that happened Saturday afternoon in Guatay, just north of Pine Valley. Ann Larkin says her husband, Warren Larkin, was returning from a bike ride along old Highway 80, and was just feet away from his home, when a good Samaritan found him in the middle of the road. Larkin was airlifted to Sharp Memorial Hopsital with 10 broken ribs, a collapsed lung and a broken clavicle. He doesn't remember anything about the crash.Ann tells 10News she doesn't want to speculate but worries that someone hit her husband on his bike and took off, since hospital staff told her his injuries were more traumatic than just falling off a bike. The Larkin family is now hoping that by sharing their story, they can find someone who witnessed the accident and can provide clues about what happened. 899

Hank Azaria says his "eyes have been opened" and he's willing to "step aside" from playing his controversial "Simpsons" character.The actor appeared on Tuesday's episode of "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" and talked about the fallout surrounding the character he voices, Apu Nahasapeemapetilon.Comedian Hari Kondabolu's documentary "The Problem with Apu" debuted last November and looked at the character as a negative, stereotypical representation of South Asians.Nahasapeemapetilon, a Indian-American character with a thick accent, operates the Kwik-E-Mart convenience store in the fictional town of Springfield. The show recently aired a response to complaints about him.Writers had the character of Lisa Simpson respond to a question from her mother Marge by saying, "Something that started decades ago and was applauded and inoffensive is now politically incorrect. What can you do?" before Lisa glanced at a framed photograph of Apu on her nightstand, which was inscribed with the message "Don't have a cow."The scene generated further complaints from viewers.Azaria voices multiple characters on the show, including Moe Szyslak and Chief Wiggum. He told Colbert he just wanted to be funny."The idea that anybody, young or old, past or present was bullied or teased based on the character of Apu, it just really makes me sad," Azaria said. "It was certainly not my intention. I wanted to spread laughter and joy with this character and the idea that it's brought pain and suffering in any way, that it was used to marginalize people, it's upsetting."The actor told Colbert he had nothing to do with the show's response, given that Apu doesn't speak during the episode. The good Samaritan driver said he saw the thief take off from the parking lot in a suburb of Cincinnati and told the dad to get in his car.Then they chased him together."Oh my god, he stole my truck! My kids are in the truck!" a man who identified himself as Courtney Wells yelled in a 911 call. "I'm in the car with somebody. We're chasing him. He stole my kids! Please, I got three kids in that car."The dispatcher asked Wells to calm down and tell him where they were driving. After a few moments, Wells came to a shocking realization."Did he turn? Oh my god, I think we lost him," Wells cried.The driver told the 911 dispatcher that he just happened to be there when the thief took off."I saw what happened so I said, 'Come on!"The thief sped off and crossed the center line several times trying to elude them, police said."We were so close. We were right there ... Oh, god, he was flying," the driver said on the 911 call.The suspect got away from them, but all ended well when the children - two 4-year-olds and a 1-year-old - were found safe and the suspect was arrested, police said.Someone claiming to be the father later posted a Facebook message that thanked the driver who helped him. HONG KONG — Hong Kong Disneyland Park is closing temporarily following the city’s decision to ban public gatherings of more than four people because of the coronavirus pandemic. Disney officials posted on the resort’s website that the Hong Kong park was closing Wednesday until further notice. The resort’s hotels will remain open with adjusted levels of service. Hong Kong’s leader, Carrie Lam, announced new coronavirus-related restrictions Monday and she urged the private sector to put in place work-from-home arrangements for employees. The Hong Kong park and Shanghai Disneyland closed in January because of the virus. Shanghai Disneyland reopened in May, as did the Hong Kong park last month. 707
