SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An SDG&E outage knocked out power to hundreds of South Bay customers Friday, including a money exchange operator whose backup generator may have contributed to a health crisis.According to SDG&E, about 703 customers in the areas of San Ysidro and Otay Mesa were affected by the outage that began at about 6:40 a.m. Service was supposed to be restored by 10:30 a.m., but that was pushed back to 12 p.m.Two people became ill and were taken to the hospital from a money exchange business using a power generator.According to SDG&E, a substation experienced a technical issue in which a capacitator failed. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An arrest has been made in the death of a teenager found dead in a Rancho Bernardo street last March.San Diego Police say Angel Ramirez, 19, of Escondido, was arrested Wednesday in connection with the death of a 16-year-old male on March 7, 2019.The teenage victim was found just before midnight lying in the middle of the street in the 16800 block of Cresta Dr. Police said despite life-saving efforts, the teen died at the scene. Based on the evidence collected, it appeared the teen had died as a result of a traffic accident.RELATED: Man found dead in middle of Rancho Bernardo streetThe Medical Examiner's officer, however, ruled the teen's death as a homicide and not caused by a traffic incident. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A woman leaving a Rancho Pe?asquitos car wash pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake, sending her car into a restaurant Friday, a photographer at the scene told 10News. The crash happened at Genie Car Wash at 9821 Carmel Mountain Road just after 1 p.m. The woman drove her Ford SUV out of the car wash and hit five vehicles being dried by their owners. Eventually, the woman crashed into a support beam of the Sushi Hana Restaurant, coming to a stop. Everyone inside the restaurant was evacuated, the OnScene photographer reported. No one was injured in the crash. 595

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A teenager is publicly apologizing after admitting to vandalizing a park in Scripps Ranch last December. Jerabek park was vandalized on December 8, 2018. Days later, the Scripps Ranch Civic Association offered a reward to find the person who vandalized the field. Neighbors said they believed a large truck drove in circles on the field, destroying the turf. In the association’s August newsletter, the unidentified teenager admits to vandalizing the grass. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A small brush fire in University City led to train delays between Sorrento Valley and Old Town Thursday, according to the North County Transit District. The first-alarm vegetation fire broke about just before 2 p.m. in a riverbed off Porte De Merano north of SR-52, according to San Diego Fire-Rescue. The brush burned into heavy fuel, officials said, before being stamped out.“Please expect delays on COASTER service,” NCTD posted on Twitter.
