BROOMFIELD, Colo. – Police in Broomfield, Colorado, responded to the Walmart Tuesday afternoon after shots were reportedly fired inside of the store, Sgt Steve Griebel of the Broomfield Police said. Griebel said a suspect was in custody and no injuries were reported.Video from the scene showed at least 10 police cars and two fire trucks in front of the Walmart, and the front door of the business had been cordoned off with police tape. He’s played for his hometown team, the Gentlemen of Aspen Rugby Football Club, and represented the United States in four Rugby World Cups.Now, retired from rugby, Parker says playing in the Aspen Ruggerfest is equally as important as playing internationally.“I love this weekend. It’s the best,” Parker said of Aspen Ruggerfest. “Best weekend of the year for sure.”Now in it’s 52nd year, Aspen Ruggerfest continues to grow by attracting athletes from across the country and across the world.“The sport is fun as hell,” said former Aspen RFC coach Freddie Waititi.Waititi says rugby is the fastest growing team sport in the country, and the numbers support it. An attorney says a Maryland man who was shot and killed by a police officer was asleep in his bedroom when police opened fire from outside his house. The 21-year-old man's girlfriend was also wounded. The Montgomery County Police Department said in a news release Friday that Duncan Socrates Lemp “confronted” police and was fatally shot by one of the officers early Thursday.
