Businesses across the country that are taking part in the “Open to All” campaign are placing stickers on their store fronts to show customers they are inclusive.Voodoo Doughnuts in Colorado was one of the first businesses to take part in the initiative, and now, hundreds of others are signing up.The “Open to All” coalition, which includes over 1,200 businesses, believes no one should have to ever worry about whether they will be denied service.The campaign was sparked by an incident that happened at a Colorado cake shop back in 2012. The shop refused to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple because it didn't align with their religious beliefs. The case went all the way to the Supreme Court, where the ruling was in favor of the cake shop.Daniel Ramos with One Colorado, a non-profit organization for the LGBTQ community, says that ruling was a turning point."We know we have so much work to do to make sure people, regardless of their sexual orientation, regardless of their gender identity, have access to businesses that won't deny them, simply because who they are and who they love,” says Ramos.Ramos believes the “Open to All” campaign is good for all businesses. "Over the past number of years, we have seen businesses stand on the side of equality because they know equality means business,” Ramos says. “It’s good for them, for their companies, for their employees to feel safe, supported and welcome."A huge contributor for the movement is Yelp. When you open the app, it will tell you if a business is participating. CAMPO, Calif. (KGTV) - Campo Elementary School students were forced off a school bus after a man stormed onto the bus armed with two knives.Matthew Barker, 37, of Campo, was arrested by San Diego Sheriff's Department after he boarded the bus packed with students at an apartment complex near Jeb Stuart Rd. Friday around 8:30 a.m., according to Mountain Empire Unified School District superintendent Kathy Granger and SDSO.SDSO said Barker entered the bus and was immediately told by the driver to leave. Barker ignored the driver and continued up the stairs and toward students before the driver got in front of him.As Barker tried to push past the driver, a grandmother of one of the students saw what was happening and got onto the bus to help the driver, SDSO said. That's when Barker reportedly pulled out a knife and swung at the driver.As the driver and grandmother struggled with Barker, an older student ushered students to the back exit of the school bus and called to nearby parents for help. The students were able to exit out of the bus unharmed.Another good Samaritan then got on the bus, at which point Barker turned the knife on himself, according to SDSO. The Samaritan pried the knife away from Barker and pulled him off the bus as deputies arrived.Barker has been charged with felony assault. SDSO is investigating the incident and believes drugs were a factor in the attack.The bus driver and Samaritans were not injured."We take safety very seriously and want to assure you our buses remain a safe form of transportation for getting children to and from school," Granger said in a statement.Counselors will be at the elementary school Tuesday to offer students support if needed, she added. 1759

(KGTV) - A Carlsbad high school teacher accused of "inappropriate conduct" is denying the allegations that has forced him out of the classroom for months.About two months ago, senior Rafa Fabito said his film teacher at La Costa Canyon High School, Speed Farris, was a no-show."I thought he was just absent," said Fabito.But that absence continued without an explanation -- until now. An email was sent home to parents earlier this week confirming Harris is currently assigned to the San Dieguito Union High School District's Administrative Office amid an investigation into allegations of "inappropriate conduct toward former students." Across the La Costa Canyon campus, there was a sense of disbelief."This doesn't jive with what his typical personality is like. I wouldn't expect this from him," said Fabito.Early this school year, student Mary Harris took a literature class taught by Farris."He liked to joke around but never made anyone feel uncomfortable. Just a happy, fine guy," said Harris.Some parents told 10News they were upset it took months for the school district to inform them. As for the teacher at the center of the probe, he agreed to talk to 10News. By phone, Farris told 10News he couldn't say much, but did maintain his innocence. "These allegations are false. They're unwarranted. I've cooperated with the district investigation as much as possible. This whole process is ruining my life and my career," said Farris. 10News reached out to the San Dieguito Union High School District to find out why it took several months to inform parents, and is waiting to hear back. (KGTV) - Two women say the same massage therapist sexually assaulted them at the upscale Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad.They've now filed a lawsuit against the massage therapist and the resort for sexual battery and negligence, among other complaints."I'm emotional.
