A pair of cousins has been charged in the murder of pizza delivery driver Clarence Taper in a Milwaukee apartment. According to the criminal complaint, Mekael Kennedy, 17, from Hartford and his cousin D’Andre Kennedy, 25, of Milwaukee robbed and shot the driver on Monday, Sept. 11 when he came to make a delivery. They then took the pizza Taper was delivering into the apartment and ate it.One of his regular customers, Sheryl Cash said Taper went out of his way to help the older residents who live there. "The man, Mr. Clarence, ever since I have been ordering from them he always delivered my food. He would stand there and talk with you. He was just real nice and kind. And he didn't have to come to your door, but he would come to your door,"  Cash said.Police said on September 15, Mekael Kennedy's girlfriend placed an order to Buddy's Pizza and Steak, where Taper delivered from. Mekael Kennedy took his cousin, D'Andre Kennedy's gun, put on a hockey mask and demanded Taper's money. Mekael Kennedy told police he had his safety on and didn't know why the gun went off. According to the criminal complaint, Mekael Kennedy told the police the driver lunged at him and he didn’t know why the gun went off because he thought the safety was on.But D'Andre Kennedy said his cousin shot Taper because he tried to take his mask off.When D'andre Kennedy found out, he cleaned the gun and threw the bullets away. Mekeal Kennedy also admitted to police that he robbed a Papa John's delivery driver earlier that same week but did not hurt him because he didn't fight back."It was senseless, it was just senseless," Cash said.Mekael is being charged as an adult and faces armed robbery and murder charges. If convicted he could face up to 95 years in prison. D’Andre was charged with harboring a felon and obstructing an officer and could face four years behind bars.  1938

A Massachusetts man has been charged after Donald Trump Jr.'s family and others received threatening letters with suspicious powder last month, the US attorney for Massachusetts announced Thursday.The criminal complaint filed by US attorney Andrew Lelling's office said Daniel Frisiello, 24, was charged with five counts of mailing a threat and five counts of false information and hoaxes. The announcement said Frisiello was arrested Thursday morning and is scheduled to appear in federal court in the afternoon.The complaint said investigators were able to identify Frisiello by tracing a glitter bomb he ordered with his name to one of the people who also received the suspicious powder.  704

A Rikers Island inmate is back in police custody in New York after attempting to escape on Thursday, officials said.Around 12:30 p.m., the detainee climbed a recreation yard fence and ran to the shoreline, Deputy Commissioner of Public Information Peter Thorne said.The detainee was apprehended by K-9 Correction Officers Larry McCardle and Gregory Braska, Correction Officers' Benevolent Association President Elias Husamudeen said."These two brave officers immediately jumped into action to bring the inmate back into custody without any regards for their own safety," Husamudeen said. "We proudly salute them for their bravery and for reminding the public the critical role Correction Officers play every day in maintaining public safety.”Husamudeen is scheduled to speak Thursday afternoon.This is a developing story. A trip to Detroit has landed a Texas couple in hot water with the law. The couple, John Guerrero and Virginia Yearnd, traveled to Detroit to attend a concert. They are facing charges child endangerment charges for allegedly leaving their 11-year-old daughter at home alone while they were in Michigan.Police say it took them hours to get ahold of the parents, and by the time they called back, they said they were in Louisiana.It appears that the couple expected the mother's sister to be checking on the girl, but investigators say that didn't happen.One of their neighbors, who did not want to be identified, said after living next door for more than a year, she didn't think of the couple as bad parents."I know them as good parents, very hardworking," she said. "He travels and his job is to set up concerts. I'm sure he was working and not just going to a rock concert."Part of the problem for investigators was that there were no notes or contact information for the sister who was allegedly supposed to be looking after the daughter.Right now, the 11-year-old is staying with a neighbor while the parents sort out legal troubles.Texas law states that child endangerment occurs when a person intentionally engages in conduct that places a child younger than 15 in danger 1294

A new report card is out for dozens of fast-food restaurants, and overall, most failed when it comes to serving antibiotic-free beef.Only two of the restaurant chains received an A grade for having no antibiotics in their beef. Those two included the up-and-coming chain BurgerFi and Shake Shack. The remaining top 22 burger chains failed to pass the test. "We know that change can happen,” says Mark Morgenstein, spokesperson for U.S. PIRG, a consumer and health advocacy group. “We just need the market pressure to be applied.”The organization is just one of many pushing for safer foods and antibiotic-free farms.   "The problem starts at the beginning,” Morgenstein says. “It starts on the farm." According to the CDC, it’s estimated drug-resistant superbugs kill 23,000 people in America each year.Just this past year, health groups made progress in getting chains to go antibiotic-free with their chicken."When there was pressure from McDonald’s and KFC and Subway not to use antibiotics in chicken, guess what?
