KUALA LUMPUR, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- China on Saturday called on East Asian nations to accelerate their economic integration and safeguard regional stability as the economically converging region seeks closer ties.
China will also support the Somali efforts of economic recovery and national reconstruction, said the Chinese president, vowing to increase China's aid to Somalia and encourage more Chinese enterprises to engage in mutually beneficial cooperation in the African country.
China also wants to push forward high-speed railway cooperation with Malaysia, said the vice minister.
Economic integration in Asia-Pacific can not be fulfilled in a short term. Nevertheless, it has made rapid progress with the contributions made by the annual APEC meetings, said Chito Romana, a Filipino expert on China issues.
On climate change, Brazil and China, both as developing countries, share similar historical circumstances and common interest, she said.
