A suspect has been arrested in the package bombing at a church in Beaumont, Texas, as well as a bomb found outside a Starbucks coffee shop that did not detonate, authorities said Friday.Jonathan M. Torres, 40, of Beaumont, was charged Friday with use of an explosive to cause property damage; possession of an unregistered destructive device (improvised destructive device); and mailing a threatening communication, according to court records.Torres' first court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday. A mysterious metal object has shown up along a northern San Luis Obispo County hiking trail.The monolith on Atascadero’s Pine Mountain has three sides and is 12-feet tall, according to City officials.While when the object was placed there or by who hasn't been revealed, locals say it was a recent addition.Pine Mountain is part of the Atascadero Land Preservation Society (ALPS), which says it doesn't have information on the monolith. A tourist was stabbed while playing slots Monday at the Golden Nugget in downtown Las Vegas.It happened shortly after 1 a.m. A man, who was visiting from another country with his brother, was approached by another man who asked him for a cigarette.The man then stabbed the tourist in his side with warning or provocation.The victim's brother chased the suspect but was unable to catch him.The suspect was later spotted by security guards at Four Queens. They called 911. A patrol unit then spotted the suspect near Fremont Street and Maryland Parkway and arrested him.The victim was transported to a local hospital and expected to be discharged later today, according to Watch Commander Lt. A student at Thirkell Elementary/Middle School was arrested and therefore handcuffed earlier this week for pulling the fire alarm, as sounding a false alarm is a crime.
