(CNN) -- John Cena is playing a firefighter in a new movie and wants to help some real-life first responders.On Monday the wrestler-turned-actor tweeted a video announcing his plan to donate 0,000 to those currently fighting the California wildfires.The actor portrays a firefighter in the forthcoming film "Playing with Fire" and tweeted "I'm asking that today on #FirstRespondersDay we do everything we can to help those who risk their lives to protect us all."Thousands have had to evacuate their homes and there have been power outages in the midst of multiple fires including including the Kincade Fire, Tick Fire and Getty Fire.Cena plugged his new comedy, which is in theaters November 8, and said it "showcases a group of people I believe are heroes -- first responders."He then segued into the fact that "California is in dire straits.""It is burning," he said. California ranked 38th among the 50 states and District of Columbia in 29 categories, according to the Wallet Hub study. Data considered to measure quality included graduation rate, dropout rate, math and reading test scores, Advanced Placement exam scores, student-teacher ratio, and SAT and ACT results. Safety was measured by number of school shootings, share of high school students who were armed, participating in violence, or access to illegal drugs, school safety plans, youth incarceration rates, and safety grades of roads around schools. California was 4th best for the percentage of threatened or injured high school students. The state came in last for its student-teacher ratio. (KGTV) — As President Trump grapples with lawmakers to secure funding for his border wall project, supporters of the controversial border measure are hoping to deliver via their own wallets.A Gofundme titled "We The People Will Fund The Wall" has raised million by more than 16,000 people since it began Monday, reportedly by a Miramar, Fla., "fundraising team," the campaign says. However, the campaign itself is attributed to Brian Kolfage Jr., a Florida Air Force veteran who lost three limbs during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004. (KGTV) - A Pennsylvania groom is accused of sexually assaulting one of his wife’s bridesmaids days before his wedding, which occurred as scheduled. Daniel Carney, 28, is charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of an unconscious person and indecent assault at the Smithfield resort Aug. 30. Police said the assault reportedly happened after Carney and the bridesmaid were drinking alcohol. The bridesmaid told officers she blacked out, and when she regained consciousness her clothes were removed and Carney was fondling her. Surveillance video shows Carney pulling the woman into the men’s locker room, police said. According to police, the assault stopped when the bride caught him, but the wedding went on as planned Sept. 1. Court documents show investigators listened in on a call between Carney and his accuser, KABC reported.
