Supervisor Fletcher knows this but prefers to continue spreading this false narrative because he is actively running a campaign against me. I measured the distance between our office doors, and it is 7 feet, so he and I can actually have a socially distanced conversation anytime he isn’t holding a press conference. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego County reported 634 new coronavirus cases on Friday, the highest number of new cases reported over one day thus far.The new cases were out of 9,224 tests reported to the county on Friday — a 7% positive result — and bring the region's COVID-19 case total to 22,489 cases.County health leaders also reported seven more deaths due to the virus on Friday. The victims died between July 7 and July 15 and include three women and four men, whose ages ranged from early 50s to mid-90s. All had existing chronic conditions. The county's death toll is now at 472 deaths.Two new community setting outbreaks were also reported, both traced to restaurants, the county says. The county does not name the businesses that community outbreaks are traced to, officials have previously said. San Diego's case rate trigger is greater than 100 cases per 100,000 people over 14 days, while the trigger for investigations is 70% or less within 24 hours of notification over seven days.The county is also still well above the state's case rate threshold of no more than 100 cases per 100,000 people, or more than 25 cases per 100,000 people and higher than 8% positivity.The new numbers come as California announces that counties that are on the state's watch list for 14 consecutive days will not be allowed to reopen for in-person school in the fall. Sandbox Pizza in Pacific Beach is an example of a restaurant stuck in limbo while helping prevent the spread of COVID-19. This past weekend, they held an event offering , 14-inch pizzas to all customers. "It's trying times for everyone so we figured it was something fun and the least we could do to try and help everyone out, from families that are out of work, to industry employees, to our first responders," Yankle added. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Residents wanting to take a hot shower at a La Jolla apartment complex could have to wait several days while crews work to repair a gas leak. The leak shut off hot water to three apartment buildings. Neighbors say they got a series of emails Saturday, one of them saying they wouldn’t have hot water for five to seven days. Residents say the issue is unacceptable. "I'm not getting in there, it's way too cold,” said Nick Imison. An email from his leasing company informed Imison he would be without hot water for about a week. Imison lives in the Regents La Jolla apartment complex. The email went on to say that their gas supply was shut off after crews found a gas leak. In the email, residents were told that if they need a shower during business hours, they need to stop by the office with an ID. “I was completely unacceptable for a complex that has about 600 units to just go hey yea you can come shower bring your id but it's only between the hours of nine and six,” Imison said. 10News reached out to the leasing company via email but have not heard back. In the email sent to residents, the company cites the need for several city and SDG&E required inspections before they can turn the gas back on. 1242
