A Greendale, Wisconsin youth baseball Program dad said his son won’t play as part of the league until they remove the “Cleveland Indians” from the roster.Ethan Keller said it’s a chance for the league to be “on the right side of history.” Keller said he believes the team name is not inclusive and could cause harm to kids in the league.“When you have a team named after another race of people you have people on the field shouting kill the Indians or beat the Indians,” said Keller. League officials say they hadn’t heard about the issue with the team name until yesterday. A Clarksville teacher was charged with assault after an incident with a student during a field trip to Nashville was reported to police.According to an affidavit from Metro Nashville Police, Robert Neitzke – a teacher at Clarksville Academy – was arrested after he allegedly grabbed a student by his throat and pushed him against a wall. The alleged incident happened on March 3 while a group of students were staying at the Renaissance Hotel in Nashville. The police report said that Neitzke was the only adult on the trip.Around 11 p.m., Neitzke was reportedly trying to give students instructions for the next day and had to stop several times to get their attention. That’s when one of the students asked, “can we hurry this up,” and Neitzke allegedly approached the student and started to grab him. Police said Neitzke then said “it would be funny if your head hit the wall” before backing up and then grabbing the student by the neck before pushing him against the wall. The student told officers that he was able to say "get off me" and push him back. He told police that while he had no visible injuries, the squeezing of his neck caused “some discomfort.”Several other students were interviewed and all gave a very similar account of the incident, according to the report. Neitzke was placed on administrative leave and has since resigned. Clarksville Academy released the following statement, in-part:  1448

A doctor with the Oregon Health Authority is getting attention after she wore clown make-up during a recent video update on the state’s coronavirus cases.Dr. Claire Poché starts out the video update like any other, stating her name, introducing her colleague who joins the video later and then giving an update on Oregon’s COVID-19 numbers.“As of today there have been 38,160 cases in Oregon, with 390 cases being reported today. Sadly, we are also reporting 3 deaths today, bringing the statewide total of COVID related deaths to 608,” Dr. Poché said in an October 14 video, while visually looking like a clown. She is wearing white and red make-up on her face made up to look like a clown, in addition to a polka dot shirt, bright red tie and yellow pants.Dr. Poché does not reference the make-up on her face, or offer an explanation for her look. The video cuts to another doctor with the Oregon Health Authority, also wearing a costume, who talks about safe ways to celebrate Halloween with pandemic safety precautions in mind.At this point, viewers might start making the assumption the costume and Dr. Poché’s make-up are part of a coordinated plan for Halloween.About 10 minutes into the video, the two colleagues reference their costumes and talk about their Halloween plans. 1289

A disturbing trend is developing across the U.S. regarding vehicles striking Black Lives Matter protesters.Just since the grand jury announced its decision in the Breonna Taylor case on Wednesday, vehicles have driven through protests in at least three cities: Denver, Buffalo and Los Angeles.Wednesday night, hours after it was revealed that the police officers who shot the 26-year-old EMT would not be charged for her killing, a man drove his car through a crowd of demonstrators calling for justice outside the Colorado State Capitol in Denver. The driver was detained. That same night, a protester was struck by a truck in Buffalo’s Niagara Square, sending her to the hospital with broken bones. In that case, authorities have arrested the driver on charges of reckless endangerment and reckless driving. And most recently, multiple vehicles drove through a protest in Hollywood Thursday night, one of which struck and injured a person. That victim was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.LAPD says a group of more than 300 protesters were marching near Sunset Boulevard when a blue pick-up truck maneuvered through the crowd and became involved in an altercation shortly after 9 p.m. As the driver of the truck attempted to get away from the situation, police say the vehicle struck a protester standing in the street.Moments later, police say a white Prius attempted to drive around the same protest and also became involved in an altercation with people in the crowd.“A black pick-up truck leading the protests accelerated and pinned that white Prius in, forcing it to come to a stop,” wrote police in a statement. “The driver of the Prius attempted to flee the area and reversed into a green mustang behind it. That vehicle was also participating in the protest.”Police say both the drivers of the truck and Mustang attempted to extract the driver of the Prius from the vehicle, but that driver was able to get away. Several blocks away, that motorist was detained by Hollywood officers, according to police. All the drivers and victims involved in both altercations have been identified by Hollywood officers and an investigation is ongoing.Protests are expected to continue throughout the coming days as people demand justice in the Breonna Taylor case.On Wednesday, the Kentucky grand jury indicted one of the three Louisville police officers who entered Taylor's apartment in March and fatally shot the emergency medical technician. However, the indicted officer isn’t being charged in connection with Taylor’s killing, he’s being charged with wanton endangerment for shots fired into her neighbor’s apartment. After the grand jury's charging decision was announced, the Kentucky attorney general held a press conference, during which he said the officers who shot Taylor were "justified" in their actions because they were responding to a shot fire by Taylor's boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, who has said that he believed the police were intruders. 3027
