Florida Republican Attorney General Pam Bondi issued a pair of letters Sunday taking issue with the lack of criminal investigations tied to the state's elections after the Florida Department of State said it found no allegations of criminal activity.The letters -- one issued to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the other to the Department of State -- came two days after the state law enforcement agency announced it had no active investigations related to the election and had been informed by the Department of State there were no allegations of criminal activity.Despite the lack of any criminal allegations referred by the Department of State, Bondi said law enforcement should look into election activities in two key counties and directed Florida Department of Law Enforcement Commissioner Rick Swearingen "to take the necessary steps to promote public safety and to ensure that our state will guarantee integrity in our elections process." 968

Fox News host Tucker Carlson is facing criticism Thursday for comments he made on his show which some suggest appear to defend a 17-year-old who allegedly shot three people in Kenosha, Wisconsin, killing two of them."How shocked are we that 17-year-olds with rifles decided they had to maintain order when no one else would?" Carlson asked on his show Wednesday night.Carson’s comments, which he shared on social media, came just hours after news Kyle Rittenhouse, a teenager, had been arrested in Illinois and will face murder charges for the shooting deaths of the two demonstrators on Tuesday night.The victims, two men from Kenosha County and one from the Milwaukee suburb of West Allis, were participating in demonstrations following the Sunday shooting of Jacob Blake.Blake, a Black man, was shot several times in the back by officers while standing near his car with his three sons inside. Blake survived, and is in the hospital with serious gunshot injuries to his back and internal organs. His family and attorneys say it will be a miracle if he walks again.Since Sunday, there have been demonstrations every night in Kenosha calling for justice.“Kenosha’s devolved into anarchy because the authorities in charge of the city abandoned it. We first met Mike back in March, when Americans were buying food in record numbers. Workers in this warehouse could barely keep up with demand. Shelves sat as empty as suppliers couldn't keep up with the demand for everything from paper towels to flour."What we saw last March, you won’t see that again. Paper manufacturers have changed their lines, what they’re producing, and how they’re producing," Violette explained.Demand for groceries across the country is still up 20 percent over this time last year. While suppliers have kept up with demand, there are random shortages for things like glass mason jars."People are cooking, people are eating at home and they’re cooking. A lot of people learned to cook from last March forward, and they’re doing more of it," Violette added.This time around, Violette and other grocers are urging Americans to avoid panic buying as some states reimpose COVID-19 restrictions."There’s no need to stock up. There’ll be plenty of product; the food supply is strong and by people stocking up, it makes it harder for people to get products and people have to make more frequent stops to go to the store,” Violette said.There’s something else this grocery distributor has realized in recent months: even with near-record numbers of Americans unemployed, they’re having trouble filling jobs.Warehouses and factories across the country have noticed similar trends. Part of the reason is that workers are concerned about catching COVID-19 and not filling open positions. This is also not the kind of job that can be done from home."I think a lot of it is the type of work that it is.
