(KGTV) — San Diego's airport is considered the best in the nation, according to a recent study released by travel website The Points Guy.San Diego International Airport took the top spot on the website's annual "Best and Worst US Airports" analysis of the 50 busiest airports in America. (KGTV) A same-sex couple says a staffer from a private school in Solana Beach told them to not submit their son’s application.Matthew Bosse and Joe Mosca are looking at middle schools for their 10-year-old son.They say Garrett earns exceptional grades and is as much a musician as he is a lacrosse player so several friends referred them to Santa Fe Christian Schools in Solana Beach.Bosse says during a phone call he told the SFCS staff member that he was married to a man.“That’s when she essentially said the values that are taught at the home are the values that are taught at school and we don’t think your family would be a good match,” said Bosse.The family regularly attends an Episcopalian church and says they’re a same-sex couple with Christian values.“You never expect to encounter such over discrimination,” said Mosca, who is also the Deputy Mayor of Encinitas.Since Santa Fe Christian Schools is private and receives no public funding, it does not have to follow state or federal anti-discrimination laws.In a statement to 10News SFCS wrote:"While we do not provide details on matters involving students or prospective students, I can say that our policy is to encourage the family of any student committed to academic excellence and spiritual development to apply. As a matter of practice, we do not attempt to persuade or dissuade prospective families from applying. (KGTV) - People who believe they were a part of San Diego’s water meter reading debacle got a chance to get some answers from City of San Diego officials Thursday night.Hundreds crowded into the Mira Mesa Senior Center for City Council-member Chris Cate’s Q&A forum on the water meter misreadings and subsequent over-billings. “It’s about trying to earn the trust back from the people,” said Cate on the meeting along with the oncoming audit of more than 250,000 water meters in San Diego.“I think people need to feel comfortable knowing that their meters actually can get read and read correctly,” added CateLast week, the City of San Diego admitted 343 customers in a pool of a little more than 2,000 had their water meters incorrectly read in the communities of Rancho Bernardo, Ranch Penasquitos, Carmel Valley and Mira Mesa.Water utility officials said it’s their plan to send out the refund checks in the next three to thirty days. 979

Sheli Riley has received emails from Capstone Management Company offering options to students like her daughter Kristin. "Everyone's gone. Everyone's home," says Kristin, as she and her mom made plans Saturday to pack up the apartment she shares with four friends. Saturday was the deadline for students in on-campus housing to move out. The normally bustling campus was mostly quiet. Sheli lamented the challenges for college students whose semesters have come to an abrupt halt. "You're in this great time of your life, loving every aspect of living there. All of a sudden you came home for the weekend and now it's over, she says." Sheli shared emails with 10News outlining the options they were given by the management company, which owns and operates the M@College apartments. According to the email, students can move out by April 1st and receive a small credit toward their leases. If the student finds someone to sublet, they receive an additional credit. Students are still responsible through the end of July, or the end of their lease term. Alternatively, if students choose to stay on campus, they receive a discount on rent, but the company may sublet the additional rooms of these shared apartments, which presents parents like Sheli with safety concerns. She would like to see the university intervene. SDSU sent 10News a statement saying in part, "these apartments are privately owned an operated," despite being on SDSU's campus. Capstone management also sent a statement, saying in part that they are working with the university to offer options to students. Sheli says one major frustration has been that the company has only offered a mailing address for any and all questions, rather than a phone number or email address to reach someone who might be able to help."It's hard when you hear they're doing relief from rent, nationwide... yet you get this through the university through the Montage." 2515
