JAMUL, Calif. (KGTV) - Neighbors are calling for more safety measures after surveillance video captured a fiery collision at an intersection in Jamul.A week ago, just before 5 p.m., Marc Burnett was opening up his off-road racing shop along Campo Road, when he heard it."I heard the skid marks hitting, and then I heard the boom," said Burnett. He ran outside and was greeted by flames."I just saw flames in the air. I saw a lot of flames. I saw the guy on the ground. He was on fire," said Burnett.Burnett raced back inside."I got the fire extinguisher, and had to put the motorcycle out -- and him," said Burnett.Burnett says the motorcycle driver, a man in his 30s, suffered serious burns to his hands and legs, but survived."He was very lucky that he survived," said Burnett.Burnett even more amazed when he looked at his surveillance video. In it you can see the truck pulling into the intersection from Maxfield Road and stop, before the eastbound motorcycle slams into the side of the truck, exploding into flames."Very scary to see that video. Didn’t know it was that bad until I saw it," said Burnett.Sadly, it was not unfamiliar.Burnett, who’s been in the area for more than 15 years, says he’s seen the aftermath of some eight serious accidents at that intersection, including a person killed crossing the road."It’s kind of a blind turn ... People coming out where the truck coming out ... It's hard to judge," said Burnett.Burnett is now lobbying for a traffic light at that intersection, which is often busy with casino traffic."Drivers are passing semi trucks on the turn. It's dangerous. If there was a light, people would have to slow down," said Burnett. The CHP says they investigation into the accident is ongoing.ABC 10News reached out to county officials about the neighbors' concerns and are waiting to hear back. 1841

So that is why I did what I did."Seaman, 29, spoke publicly for the first time Monday since?he was shot three times. The football coach and former college defensive lineman used his athletic skills to take down the assailant. 662

Kareem Hunt, the former Kansas City Chiefs running back who was released last week after a video of him assaulting a woman in February was published, is being removed from the Madden 19 video game. A spokesperson for EA Sports told TMZ Sports, "We are in the process of removing Kareem Hunt from the Madden NFL 19 roster, Madden Overdrive and Madden Ultimate Team."Any of our players who currently have Hunt on their Ultimate Team will receive a replacement generic player with identical stats."Hunt was the NFL's rushing leader in 2017. Hunt has since admitted lying about the February incident, which took place in Cleveland. Meanwhile, Hunt is hoping people will forgive him. "I'm asking for forgiveness and I definitely believe I deserve forgiveness," Hunt told ESPN. "Everything is really happening fast right now, and I just want everybody to forgive me. 888
Koeberle Bull got on Facebook and saw several racist, cruel messages that used the N-word and wished death on her three African-American children. She didn't know the white man who had messaged her -- she lives in New Jersey, and he appeared to live in Kentucky -- but he had a gun in his profile photo, so she decided to call police in Kentucky and report him."I was in shock, I was disgusted, I was angry and hurt," Bull said.Little did Bull know that her call, and a follow-up police investigation, prevented what police say could have been a mass tragedy. On Thursday, after speaking with Bull, Kentucky State Police went to interview Dylan Jarrell, the Lawrenceburg man who allegedly messaged her. Police say they found him backing out of the driveway with a firearm, a collection of ammo, a Kevlar vest and a detailed plan to attack local schools."This young man had it in his mind to go to schools and create havoc," state Police Commissioner Rick Sanders said. "He had the tools necessary, the intent necessary, and the only thing that stood between him and evil -- between him in a school doing evil -- was law enforcement." 1139
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Missouri lawmakers advanced a bill Wednesday, that would allow concealed carry in churches, daycares and bars, among other locations.House Bill 1936 extends the list of places where gun owners can carry a concealed weapon — whether they have a permit or not."The definition of a criminal is someone who doesn't follow the law. We should be giving an individual the ability to protect themselves in any situation," said state Rep. Jered Taylor, a Republican from Nixa. This is the second year Taylor has introduced this bill.Currently, in Missouri, there are 17 locations where concealed carry is not allowed. Taylor's bill would narrow that list.If passed, the bill would allow concealed carry at amusement parks, casinos, child care facilities, churches, hospitals, stadiums, polling locations and local government buildings, including public universities and colleges."You cannot carry into those locations unless you have express permission from the property owner. What I am trying to do is leave it up to the property owner and let them decide what they want to allow and not allow," said Taylor. To opt out, private businesses would have to post signs prohibiting guns. Government buildings and public universities would not have that option."When I think about gun violence in KC and the legislation that is happening in Jefferson City, there is a huge disconnect," said AdHoc president Damon Daniel.Based on his experiences helping victims of crime, Daniel said he does not believe guns are the solution. In fact, hours before a committee passed HB 1936, he joined the Jackson County prosecutor in announcing a new service to help innocent bystanders of crimes."That's just not the solution. The solution to curb violence in Kansas City, especially when we talk about homicides, is we need more economic opportunities, we need more jobs, more mental health providers," said Damon, who added other than having a gun to protect one's home "no one wants a lot of people walking around carrying guns."Since the bill passed out of a House rules committee, it can be brought for debate on the House floor anytime. To read the bill in its entirety, see the window below. 2195
