LA MESA, Calif. (KGTV) - The San Diego County Fair isn’t happening in 2020, but there are still ways to get your fair fix. There are virtual activities hosted through the fair, and one food vendor is still bringing fair food to the community. Chicken Charlie’s is known for deep-fried everything, from Oreos to meat, and this year, the new addition is deep fried taffy. While the fair won’t be happening, Charlie Boughosian has brought his trailer to the Grossmont Center in La Mesa to bring fried food to the community. Friday would have been the first day of the fair, so Charlie made it the first day of shop in the parking lot. “I’m feeling the same kind of pressure I feel on opening day of the fair,” he said Friday. Be prepared for a wait; the first day was a hit and the crowds showed up. He said they’ll start with hours from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. then expand if possible. The plan is to stay open for about a month then see how it goes. Charlie said he’s still looking to hire about 20 employees. “I think food is love and I love feeding people and there’s nothing better than fried chicken. We’re talking comfort food at its finest,” said Charlie. 1317

LANTANA, Fla. – Three months before accused Parkland shooter Nikolas Cruz killed 17 people at his former high school, he lived in a Lantana, Florida trailer park with his dead mother’s best friend and his 17-year-old brother. During Cruz’s brief stay in Palm Beach County, deputies were called to the trailer three times in one month for a fight, a welfare check and report of a weapon. The information may provide more insight into the mind of the 19-year-old man charged with 17 counts of murder after he allegedly took his AR-15 to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Valentine’s Day.A missing photographAfter misplacing a photo of his dead mother, 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz punched a hole in the wall of a Lantana trailer he lived in and started to ‘break things’.  800

LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. -- Part of the popular RiverWatch restaurant on the Ohio River has vanished, and nobody seems quite sure where it went. The floating restaurant had a tiki bar attached on a separate barge. Authorities don't know if it sank or floated away. A boat normally docked at the restaurant was located downriver, but the tiki bar remained missing Sunday. The Ohio River did reach flood stage over the weekend."They can go back and reel back time and maybe figure out if anything hit, anything happened to force this to happen, because this tiki bar's been intact, I'm told, for 12 years," Lawrenceburg Mayor Kelly Mollaun said. The RiverWatch is a seasonal business, usually operating between April and October. The mayor said the owner still plans on opening as usual. 784
