NAIROBI, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- The upcoming Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit will provide an ideal platform to boost China-Africa partnership on ecological matters, said Erik Solheim, the executive director of United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
A county can be removed from the list if less than 2 percent of its population lives below the poverty line, defined as a per capita annual income of 2,300 yuan (around 335 U.S. dollars) at 2010 prices. In the country's western regions, counties must have less than 3 percent of people living in poverty to be removed from the list.
The forum, scheduled for Sept. 12 and 13 in Wuwei City of northwest China's Gansu Province, will launch a restoration project of the Populus euphratica trees along the Belt and Road to promote non-governmental cooperation on ecological improvement, Chen Peng, vice president of China Green Foundation, said at a press briefing Tuesday.
Liu Liehong, deputy director of the Cyberspace Administration of China, said at a press conference that the research for and drafting of a regulation, which stipulates security control over exporting Chinese citizens' personal information and the country's important data, is underway.
He called on the CPPCC to help other countries increase their understanding of China by introducing to them to China's development path, the principles it holds in taking part in global governance, as well as its political and institutional advantages.
