A wallet-sized card with a picture of a young girl in West Michigan on the front may not mean much, but once flipped over the card’s intent is revealed.It asks people to pay it forward.“When we see the cards, we’re sad, but we’re happy because people look at the card and see our daughter,” said Cindi Rasmussen.Cindi and her husband, Mark, are the parents of the girl on the card.Her name is Molly.The parents describe the 16-year-old Forest Hills East student as fun-loving, social, and always on the go.“My favorite line of mine was, ‘When you finish what you’re doing, can you take me to Starbucks? Or can you take me to the gas station to get candy?’” Mark remembered.But this past June, everything stopped for the family.Molly died while swimming with a friend at Lake Bella Vista in Cannon Township. According to her parents, Molly was an epileptic and had a seizure in the water.“There’s not a day or a second that I don’t think about her,” said Mark.“That whole night was awful,” said Cindi.However, in the midst of their grief came Molly’s Cards, which encourage people to perform a small task, like opening a door or paying for coffee, in honor of the Grand Rapids native.Cindi says one of her former co-workers created Molly's Cards after Cindi asked people to pay it forward in lieu of sending more flowers to their family.The family estimates more than 1,000 Molly’s Cards have been distributed already. A Miami police officer has been relieved of duty after a video showed him kicking a suspect in the head, as the man was lying on the ground and getting handcuffed."The video depicts a clear violation of policy," Miami Police Chief Jorge R. Colina said in a statement. "The officer has been relieved of duty and the Miami-Dade State Attorney's office has been contacted."A cell phone video shot by a witness shows a man lying in a yard with his hands on his head. The first police officer approaches him and starts putting handcuffs on the suspect. The suspect, identified as David Suazo in the police report, was not resisting and was lying on his stomach. His hands are being restrained. Suddenly, another officer can be seen running toward him and kicking him in the head.That officer then drops to the ground next to the suspect and appears to put him in a headlock.A woman can be heard expressing shock. "You didn't have to do all that, buddy. You tripping."CNN has attempted to reach the officer, Mario Figueroa, but has not yet gotten a response. A suburban Chicago police officer responding Sunday to a shooting at a bar killed a security guard who was just "doing his job," an attorney for the victim's family said.An officer from Midlothian, a Chicago suburb, fatally shot Jemel Roberson, a 26-year-old security guard working at the bar, Cook County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Sophia Ansari told CNN.Several law enforcement agencies responded to the shooting around 4 a.m. at Manny's Blue Room Lounge in Robbins, about 20 miles south of Chicago, Ansari said. A pharmacist was arrested for allegedly luring an Indiana woman to his Colorado home and then drugging and sexually assaulting her multiple times, according to a release from the Teller County Sheriff’s Office. And investigators believe there are more victims who have yet to come forward.Brent Stein, 46, was a pharmacist with Mountain Key Pharmacy in Florissant, Colorado, about 2 hours southwest of Denver. His pharmacy license was suspended this week as he was booked on three counts of sexual assault, but has since bonded out of the Teller County Detention Facility.The investigation into the allegations against Stein began on June 18, when Teller County detectives received information there was a sexual assault victim at a hospital in Colorado Springs, the sheriff’s office said.The victim told investigators that she had met Stein on a dating website and that the suspect had made promises to heal her medical conditions and that he was a pharmacist, the Teller County release read.The victim traveled from Indiana to Stein’s home, and during her stay, she claims she was given un-prescribed medication by Stein, which resulted in her being incapacitated. Investigators allege the victim was sexually assaulted multiple times by Stein while the victim was under the influence of the unknown medication.Upon further investigation, other victims have come forward to report unwanted sexual conduct by Stein, the sheriff’s office said. Detectives believe there might be other victims and are asking anyone who knows anything about this case or may be an additional victim to come forward.
