Roger Stone associate Jerome Corsi said Monday he expects to be indicted by special counsel Robert Mueller for "giving false information to the special counsel or to one of the other grand jury."Corsi made the comment during his streaming show on YouTube."And now I fully anticipate that the next few days, I will be indicted by Mueller for some form or other of giving false information to the special counsel or to one of the other grand jury or however they want to do the indictment. But I'm going to be criminally charged," Corsi said Monday.Corsi's lawyer declined to comment.Corsi could face any number of charges -- spanning from perjury to making false claims to obstruction of justice. The potential charges are related to false statements he made about his relationship with WikiLeaks and Stone.Corsi has been involved in Mueller's investigation for roughly two months and had already been subpoenaed for documents and testimony before the grand jury, and he complied with both.Corsi's role in the investigation largely revolves around the possibility that he was an intermediary between Stone and WikiLeaks.During the 2016 campaign, Stone publicly bragged about having "backchannel communications" with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, and on several occasions appeared to predict the WikiLeaks releases that roiled the race in the final stretch of the campaign. But in the two years since Trump's victory, Stone has walked back those claims and said his "backchannel" was merely New York radio host Randy Credico sharing information about his interviews with Assange. Credico denies serving as an intermediary between the two.Investigators have been skeptical of Stone's explanation. CNN has reported that?Mueller's team is examining the possibility that Stone had another intermediary beyond Credico, and that Corsi might have been involved.Corsi injected himself into Stone's situation last year when he claimed that one of his own articles for InfoWars inspired Stone to predict in October 2016 that there would be trouble coming for Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta. Not long after that, WikiLeaks started releasing thousands of Podesta's hacked emails.Stone denies that he ever told Trump about WikiLeaks' dumps before they became public. He also denies colluding with Russia.The-CNN-Wire 2331

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California Gov. Jerry Brown announced Friday he pardoned three former prisoners facing the threat of deportation to Cambodia, including one who became a youth pastor after serving six years in the 1990s for murdering a rival gang member. The three were among 36 pardons granted by Brown within the past week. He's also commuted the sentences of 31 current inmates who can now seek speedier paroles.Among the pardons are Cambodian refugee Vanna In, who entered the United States at age 3. He served six years for the murder of a fellow gang member at age 17 but was released in 2001.RELATED: Trump pardons ranchers whose case sparked Bundy takeover of Oregon refugeHe subsequently started Jobs of Hope for former gang members, which Brown's pardon says has "helped dozens of individuals to turn away from gangs and become law-abiding, productive citizens." He also became a youth minister at a Mennonite Brethren church and hundreds wrote to the governor attesting to his rehabilitation."While the seriousness of the crime can never be minimized," Brown wrote, "I believe that Mr. In should be permitted to have the chance at remaining in a community to which he has devoted a life of service."He is currently under a deportation order after living in the U.S. as a lawful permanent resident, Brown wrote.RELATED: Deported US Army veteran becoming a US citizenPhal Sok served 15 years for a Los Angeles County armed robbery and now works for criminal justice reform. He was three years old when he came to the United States as a Cambodian refugee and has lived here as a lawful permanent resident for 37 years but is currently under removal proceedings, Brown's pardon said.Los Angeles-area businessman Heng Lao served two years for assault with a deadly weapon. Lao is also a Cambodian facing deportation, Brown's office said, although his circumstances are not outlined in his pardon."Those granted pardons all completed their sentences years ago and the majority were convicted of drug-related or other nonviolent crimes," Brown's office said in a statement. "Pardons are not granted unless they are earned."Brown has granted 1,186 pardons since returning to the governor's office in 2011 and granted 404 during his first two terms as governor from 1975 to 1983.Brown's father, Edmund G. "Pat" Brown had 467 pardons and 55 commutations, but there have been long stretches of very few. From 1991 through 2010, former Govs. Pete Wilson and Gray Davis issued no pardons while Arnold Schwarzenegger handed out just 15.Brown has commuted 82 sentences in his most recent two terms, compared to 10 by Schwarzenegger, none by Davis and four by Wilson. 2678

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California has elected its youngest state lawmaker in more than eight decades. It elevated a 25-year-old progressive Democrat who already has years of legislative experience to the state Assembly. Alex Lee survived a crowded nine-candidate primary election in March, then trounced his Republican rival in a San Francisco Bay Area district that includes part of Silicon Valley. He plans to keep living with his mom in San Jose for the time being and had to take a part-time gig economy delivery job to make ends meet during his campaign. Lee has worked for five different lawmakers either as a college intern or more recently a paid aide. 671

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Democrats have won two Republican-held California state Senate seats in the Central Valley, giving the party veto-proof supermajorities in both chambers of the Legislature.Vote totals updated since Election Day made winners Monday of Melissa Hurtado and Assemblywoman Anna Caballero.Hurtado won the open 12th District seat while Caballero defeated Republican Sen. Andy Vidak in the neighboring 14th District. Both are in the Fresno area. The victories give Democrats a two-thirds advantage in the Senate. The party also has that advantage in the Assembly.Supermajorities will allow Democrats to raise taxes, suspend legislative rules or override vetoes without Republican votes. 711

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — The California Assembly has apologized for discriminating against Japanese Americans and helping the U.S. government send them to internment camps during World War II. The Assembly passed a resolution Thursday that also apologized for discrimination leading up to the war. It comes a day after California Gov. Gavin Newsom and the governors of Idaho and Arkansas declared Feb. 19 a Day of Remembrance. That's the day in 1942 when President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed an executive order leading to the imprisonments. California lawmakers gave somber statements and hugged and shook hands with people who were imprisoned in the camps and with their families. The Democratic assemblyman who introduced the resolution said the state would be apologizing for a time when "California led the racist anti-Japanese American movement.”The measure received bipartisan support, a rarity in the Legislature. 930
