SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The city is running behind on a project to restore an iconic bridge that borders Hillcrest and North Park.Now, people in the area are growing frustrated at the construction on the Georgia St. bridge that's causing traffic delays and drivers to use surrounding neighborhoods as shortcuts."Traffic is very very bad because of te bridge, and I have to go around to buy stuff for my shop, and it's taking me longer to get where I want to go," said Milan Misic, who lives in the area and owns the Balboa Perk coffee and antique shop. The city is restoring the 103-year-old bridge so it can withstand an earthquake. The city broke ground on the million project in July 2016, saying it would take a year. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The family of Kimberly Fattorini is suing former San Diego Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman in connection with her fatal overdose, according to a TMZ Sports report.Fattorini's parents claim Merriman drugged and assaulted their daughter before she died at a house party in 2017, the report says.In a statement, Merriman's representatives said they are unaware of the lawsuit and that the original police investigation found no wrongdoing by the former NFL star.Her parents say Fattorini and her friends were invited to a club promoter's house party, and that Merriman "was allegedly witnessed carrying a bottle with some sort of liquid inside."At some point during the party, she texted the promoter saying, "you friend just poor'd half G in my drink," the lawsuit says. Her "parents believe G refers to GHB," the TMZ report says.Per the report, Fattorini's parents claim that first responders found her unresponsive and "half naked with jeans unzipped and buttoned" at a party in Los Angeles. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The City of Poway Friday honored the memory of Lori Lynn Gilbert-Kaye, who was killed last April in a shooting at a local synagogue, by renaming a street after her.Many gathered Friday for the unveiling of Lori Lynn Lane (formerly Eva Drive). It's located in the Green Valley Neighborhood, off Stone Canyon Drive. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The City of San Diego could make the unorthodox move of refusing to reveal a directory of its 11,000-plus employees.A new memo from City Attorney Mara Elliott's office says officials fear doing so could increase the risk of cyber attack. "You have indicated that releasing all City employee email addresses at once could create a potential threat to the City's cybersecurity because it would make it substantially easier for bad actors to launch phishing attacks against the City, which could interrupt critical City operations," says the Sept. 20 memo. The Union-Tribune recently made a California Public Records Act request for names, work email addresses and phone numbers of all city employees, which is disclosable under the act. Cyber security experts say public agencies have been facing a barrage of hacking attempts because they control critical civic operations. Last year, hackers shut down some operations at the Port of San Diego, and the city of Atlanta has spent millions to recover a system after a ,000 ransomware attack. Ted Harrington, an executive partner at Independent Security Evaluators, said hackers often try to get victims to open attachments in emails, known as phishing. "It's an attack method where when the victim either clicks a link or downloads an attachment, that automatically installs some sort of malware or directors that particular victim to a malicious website, and then all kinds of bad things can happen from there," he said. The City Attorney's memo existing case law suggests there are circumstances where not disclosing the list of workers outweighs the public interest in disclosing them, but leaves it up to the city on a final determination.
