The band Smash Mouth is facing criticism for playing a concert to a large crowd that were reportedly mostly mask-less. The band headlined the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally being held this week in South Dakota.Images from Sunday night’s Smash Mouth concert show a crowd packed shoulder to shoulder in some places, with few people wearing masks.At one point in the concert, a band member addressing the crowd can be heard saying "F*** that Covid s***,” according to KOTA-TV. It's unclear what he's saying before or after that comment.The group defended the concert in a statement given to Billboard; band manager Robert Hayes said "the promoter did a fantastic job with their COVID protocol. They had a very strict social distancing and mask policy in place for all workers."Hayes added comments about the "endless hours" spent to ensure the concert happened as safely as possible and “we are very happy with the outcome."Sturgis city officials allowed the annual event to go on this year, despite pleas from residents, and recommend visitors wear masks and social distance. TAMPA, Fla. — A Tampa Catholic school experienced heightened police presence and low attendance Tuesday after a former contracted employee threatened violence on campus. "When I first walked into school there was like eight people and then like they kept saying there was like police and a lockdown drill will happen," said Sofia Diaco, a fourth-grade student at Academy of the Holy Names. Tampa Police advised school officials at Academy of the Holy Names to operate on a modified lockdown Tuesday as they searched for the person who threatened to "shoot up the school.""There's no question that when you hear about such a specific and violent threat, you worry about your children's safety and you entrust that safety to the school," said parent Dan Diaco. Ainya Smalls, 23, was arrested for making the threat in front of students and staff as a supervisor escorted her off campus after being terminated on Monday. Smalls worked for a cleaning company hired by the school. "A lot of people were scared, some post-traumatic issues from some of the children, and some of the parents to be honest," Diaco said. Scripps station WFTS in Tampa has learned, Smalls already had a warrant out for her arrest for criminal mischief while she worked at the historic Catholic school. Officials say Smalls passed a Level 2 background check provided by the cleaning company. But after this incident, they will now conduct their own screenings for all contracted employees and plan on re-screening every member of the cleaning staff. "I think the Academy's new policy of taking control of the background checks is a wonderful remedy to help prevent something like this from happening again," Diaco said. TAMPA, Fla. — The parents of the accused Seminole Heights, Florida killer are officially under house arrest after being held in contempt of court for refusing to answer prosecutor's questions.Howell Donaldson Jr. and Rosita Donaldson were booked into the Orient County Jail on Wednesday morning before being released to fulfill their house arrest.The couple is being placed on GPS monitoring, during their house arrest. They could be under house arrest for a maximum of 5 months and 29 days. Surveillance video was released Wednesday from security cameras outside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on the day a gunman killed 17 people.The video's expected July 27 release was delayed when the Broward County School Board requested a review by the state's highest court.
