QINGDAO, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- Fifteen of the 16 crewmen on a Panama-registered freighter that caught fire off east China coast have been rescued, according to local marine authorities late Sunday.
Most of the surveyed workers said they would not bring their parents to the cities where they work, citing high living costs as the main reason.
Changzhi City authorities were also found to have delayed reporting the leak until six days later.
On Saturday morning, temperatures in parts of Xinjiang, Qinghai, Tibet, Gansu, Shanxi, Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Fujian and Guangxi dropped by 6 to 10 degrees Celsius from a day ago, and by 12 to 16 degrees Celsius in parts of Liaoning and Jilin.
The fire erupted around 3 p.m. in the border areas between the towns of Longpan and Lashi in Yulong Naxi Autonomous County, a county government information office official said.
