Kamala HarrisMinnesota Sen. Amy KlobucharFormer Texas Rep. Beto O'RourkeVermont Sen. Bernie SandersMassachusetts Sen. A large field of candidates did not qualify for Thursday's debate. Candidates who appeared in previous debates such as Rep. Tim Ryan, Mayor Bill DeBlasio, Gov. Steve Bullock, author Marianne Williamson, Sen. Michael Bennet, Rep. John Delaney and Rep. Tulsi Gabbard failed to qualify. The aforementioned candidates have until Oct. 1 to qualify for the next debate in October. Activist Tom Steyer, who has not yet appeared in a debate, has recently qualified for the October debate, meaning the next debate could revert back to a two-night format. ModeratorsABC News' David Muir and Linsey Davis will join Univision anchor Jorge Ramos as moderators. Ramos and Muir, at separate events, moderated Democratic Party debates leading up to the 2016 election. Muir also moderated a Republican Party debate in 2016. FormatThe debate will mark the longest one so far in this debate season going a full three hours. Each candidate will be given one minute and 15 seconds for direct responses to questions, and 45 seconds for responses and rebuttals. Candidates will have the opportunity to deliver opening statements, but there will be no closing statements, ABC said. The top 10 on one stageThursday is arguably the night many voters have waited for with the entire top 10 slate of candidates on one stage. For instance, this is the first time that Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden will share a stage. Will Warren take a shot at Biden now that she has the opportunity? We'll find out on Thursday. 2212

Tuesday marked the first day consumers could purchase Apple's new Mac Pro desktop computer, and it is already being scorned on social media for its price tag. While a basic model of the Mac Pro sells for ,999, Apple's upgrades to the computer could set a buyer back more than ,000. Yes, a computer on the consumer market is selling for more than most cars. There is no word on whether solitaire comes preinstalled. While the computer is on the consumer market, its designed for those who require "extreme performance." “We designed Mac Pro for users who require a modular system with extreme performance, expansion and configurability. With its powerful Xeon processors, massive memory capacity, groundbreaking GPU architecture, PCIe expansion, Afterburner accelerator card and jaw-dropping design, the new Mac Pro is a monster that will enable pros to do their life’s best work,” said Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. The computer features some expensive upgrades, which could add thousands to final cost. For instance, upgrading from an eight-core processor to a 28-core processor could add an additional ,000. Upgrading the memory to the computer from 32GB to 1.5 TB adds ,000 to the purchase price. An upgraded graphics card could cost as much as ,800. An upgrade to the story also could add ,400 to the price. The Mac Pro's large price tag has prompted many to poke fun at Apple on social media. 1464
The San Francisco Police Department said on Tuesday that investigators now suspect a freelance journalist who had refused to reveal the identity of a confidential source took part in a conspiracy to steal a police report on the death of a public defender.Police Chief Bill Scott said at a press conference that there is a criminal investigation into whether that journalist, Bryan Carmody, was an "active participant in the commission of the criminal acts beyond his role with the news media.""Mr. Carmody was and continues to be viewed by investigators as a possible co-conspirator in this theft rather than a passive recipient of the stolen document," Scott said. He did not cite any evidence of Carmody's role in the alleged theft at the press conference.Scott made the statement after police officials said in court earlier in the day that Carmody will get all of his property back after it was seized in a raid on May 10.Press advocacy groups, including the Committee to Protect Journalists, released statements at the time condemning the raid. The Society of Professional Journalists Northern California chapter invoked the law designed to provide legal cover for journalists who want to protect the identity of an unnamed source."California's Shield Law protects journalists from being held in contempt for refusing to disclose their sources' identities and other unpublished/unaired information obtained during the news gathering process," SPJ NorCal said. "That this search was carried out weeks after Carmody declined a request from San Francisco police to divulge his sources shows an alarming disregard for the right to gather and report on information."The northern California-based freelance journalist 1729
