The temporary closures were also implemented to allocate cleaning resources to other sites. "Essential care for patients at these sites, and indeed all Sharp Rees-Stealy patients, will continue through video and phone visits or for patients who must be seen in person, at other Sharp Rees-Stealy clinics," the spokesperson said. The sites will re-open once the outbreak is over. "It is a consolidation of services which will allow the medical group to provide the safest and best care during this outbreak while also protecting our doctors and staff."Check with your hospital location to see whether or not appointments are being impacted. Meanwhile, Sharp Healthcare is beginning a drive-though donation drive 1619

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego's District Attorney's Office Wednesday says the officer who fatally shot a man who had attacked another person with a machete in Southcrest acted in self defense. After review the case and officer's actions, DA Summer Stephen's office says Officer Corey Pitts, who fired upon Vaughn Denham on Aug. 8, 2018, is not criminally liable for the shooting.Denham, 48, has reportedly attacked another person with a machete during an argument over a dog chain. After Pitts responded, Denham ran up to his patrol car and swung a four-foot metal chain at the vehicle, the DA's office says.RELATED:Police investigating fatal officer-involved shooting in SouthcrestNeighbors say deadly shooting in Southcrest started because of a machete attackSDPD officer named in shooting of man suspected of Southcrest attackStephen's office says Pitts ordered Denham to drop the chain and Denham refused while continuing to walk toward the officer, swinging the chain. Pitts used a Taser but it didn't stop Denham, forcing Pitts to retreat for a block and a half while he continued to order Denham to drop the chain and get on the ground. The DA's office added Pitts warned Denham he would shoot if he continued to refuse. Pitts eventually fired two rounds, striking Denham.Denham later died at the hospital. The Stephen's office says a toxicology report showed phencyclidine (PCP), cannabinoids, and methamphetamine in his system."Based on these circumstances, Pitts fired at Denham in his own defense," the office's review states. "He therefore bears no state criminal liability for his actions."In addition to clearing Pitts of any criminal wrongdoing, the DA's office released nearly two minutes of body camera footage from the incident. 1751

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego student Emily Benkes says her mother has lived in their Carmel Mountain home for 32 years, never once feeling unsafe in the neighborhood.Tuesday, Benkes came home to a ransacked house. “We had our laptops out, I had some money on my desk, Xbox was gone, my Apple TV,” said Benkes. Benkes believes the person hopped their backyard fence, coming in from a nearby trail. Food was missing from the fridge, including a package of salami which they later found on the trail. The suspect entered the home by throwing a rock through the back window and climbing in. “I felt really violated, I couldn’t even go in my room just because I kept thinking that there was somebody in here going through my stuff,” Benkes. She posted what happened on Nextdoor, and now neighbors are trying to help; one neighbor believes their surveillance video captured someone hopping the fence. “I hope we catch this person and nobody else has this happen to them,” said Benkes. The family estimates several thousand dollars worth of goods were stolen; they have filed a report with the San Diego Police Department. 1122
