Would you go as often if you heard about collisions and damage happening inside?Mark Crotty of Arizona took his new car through a Super Star Car Wash. He says while in the wash, a car two cars ahead somehow came off the rollers. Crotty said the truck in front of him stopped, which caused his car to be sandwiched with the truck and a big SUV from behind. He said that SUV pushed him about 15 feet through the rest of the wash. Crotty says Super Star Car Wash took no responsibility for the damage caused. He ended up paying hundreds to repair damage to his bumpers.Jennifer Chahoud also had damage to her new car. She also said it happened inside a Super Star Car Wash.Chahoud says cars suddenly stopped in front of her and her car was hit. She said for weeks, Super Star claimed they were not responsible.Chahoud said only after complaining to the Better Business Bureau that they paid for repairs to her car.Jake Morrissey says it happened to him too.He said his car was in neutral and his hands were off the steering wheel as all drivers are asked to do. Then his car collided with a car in front and back of him.He said Super Star claimed no responsibility and said it was not their equipment. Instead, he says the car wash blamed another driver.Morrissey said Super Star gave him the driver's name and location and told him to take it up with her. He approached her, but said she denied knowing anything about it and threatened to call the police. He sued, and Super Star blamed this other driver.Morrissey lost and still hasn't had his damage repaired, and he now questions why cars are put on the conveyor belt so closely.Morrissey added he wonders why there aren't sensors that immediately stop the line when there's an issue.JR Ruelas of Super Star Car Wash said these collisions are very rare. He said when they happen, they are usually the fault of the driver.Ruelas said drivers put on their brakes or move the steering wheel taking them off the track.He says in the above cases, the car wash equipment was not the problem.He defended the practice of giving drivers information of other drivers to seek reimbursement.He said Super Star does take responsibility when they are at fault, but couldn't give exact numbers.Ruelas said there are sensors on the conveyor line, but they are not in the middle, where many of these collisions happen.Crotty, Chahoud and Morrissey all said their damage was not their fault, and ask how could it be when they have no control over their car's movement? (KGTV) - The San Diego Sheriff’s Office is investigating how several pounds of narcotics wound up magnetized to a man’s truck.A Mexican citizen who lives in Tijuana but works in El Cajon noticed a strange object in his fender Thursday morning and called authorities.Deputies found 4 packages containing roughly 5 pounds of narcotics hidden underneath the man’s pickup truck.The man’s next door neighbor informed them that they had seen men tampering with the victim’s truck overnight.“It’s our feeling that someone targeted this car because he could cross the border every day with the SENTRI pass and they were probably waiting to collect the narcotics later today,” said Sgt. Tim Chantler of the Sheriff’s office.Drivers with a SENTRI pass can travel in establishes dedicated commuter lanes to and cross the border faster after applying and being prescreened. Deputies are awaiting test results for the drugs but suspect either meth, heroin, or fentanyl.The driver is not considered a suspect as he called 911, according to authorities. “I would be checking my vehicle every day before I cross the border” said Sgt. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) - A news helicopter had what County of San Diego officials called a “troubled” landing in El Cajon Tuesday. The incident with the Bell 206B helicopter was reported about 2:15 p.m. in the parking area of Gillespie Field at 681 Kenney St., Santee Fire reported. Video recorded by the news helicopter appears that it was a normal landing in which the helicopter skids land on a movable platform called a dolly. The dolly can then be pulled into a hangar. It seems from the last seconds of the video clip that one of the helicopter skids may have missed the platform and the chopper then tipped over.When emergency crews arrived, the helicopter was on its side.The pilot was not hurt but the passenger was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, officials said. Hazardous Materials teams were notified of a small fire and fuel spill, according to the County."The aircraft rolled over while landing, caught fire and sustained substantial damage. The degree of damage means this will be classified as an accident," said FAA spokesperson Ian McGregor.The FAA and NTSB will investigate the landing.The news helicopter is operated by a third party and shared by five San Diego media outlets, including 10News. 1235
