WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- A group of South Florida strip clubs will give away 3,000 turkeys to needy families for Thanksgiving.Rodriguez Charities will be giving away 1,000 turkeys at three different locations on Monday, Nov. 20 at 11 a.m.The turkeys are intended for families in need, are limited to one turkey per household, and will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last on Nov. 20 at each of the three locations.The free Thanksgiving turkey giveaway started with just 100 turkeys at just one location in 2014. Over the last three years the number of free turkeys distributed has increased to 1,000 each year. This year Rodriguez Charities is tripling the amount of free turkeys that will be given away, totaling 3,000 birds between the three locations.According to a news release, the organization says actor Angel "Chi Chi" Salazar, who has appeared in movies like "Scarface" and "Carlito's Way", is scheduled to appear at the turkey giveaway, along with "former NFL greats".Over the last 11 years, Rodriguez Charities has donated more than .5 million to various charitable organizations and needy individuals throughout South Florida. 1191

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Amid reports that the FDA is considering tougher standards for the authorization of a COVID-19 vaccine, President Donald Trump claimed Wednesday that the White House could override that decision.The Washington Post and CNN report that the FDA is expected to roll out the new standard for emergency authorization of a vaccine soon, which would make it exceedingly difficult for a vaccine to be cleared by Election Day.The FDA is expected to issue the guidance to increase transparency and public trust in the potential vaccine, The Post reports. A group of 16 friends all tested positive for the virus after a visit to a bar, according to local reports."It seems like the largest growing sector of cases in the United States seems to be in the 18 to 40 year old range," Zach Jenkins, Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Cedarville University. "Bars also seem to be a common source that infections are springing from. In my estimation, what we're seeing is the direct result of lockdowns easing up. Bars were physically closed throughout the country, people had minimal to no access to alcohol, and many people canceled their vacation plans. "Bars are often social experiences by nature, and younger crowds are more likely to frequent them. When alcohol consumption is added to the mix, people are less likely to keep their distance or practice other behaviors that limit the spread of the virus. Another layer to consider is that many bars lack outdoor seating in larger cities may have limited outdoor seating. Add all of that together, and you start to see why bars seem to be such a hot spot for activity."The CDC still encourages people to remain six feet apart and wear masks in public settings, which could be a challenge consuming alcohol while in a crowded bar.The CDC has released guidelines for the public to decide on whether it's safe to visit places such as bars and restaurants.
