BEIJING, March 11 (Xinhua) -- A reception honoring political advisors from Hong Kong and Macao was held here Sunday on the sidelines of the annual session of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee.
The leaders' meeting had been previously slated for last October, but it was postponed as EU leaders scrambled to combat the Eurozone debt crisis.
The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) upon the conclusion of a three-day bimonthly session adopted the amended law after further review by lawmakers to the draft first tabled October last year.
"I, on behalf of the Chinese government, officially hands over this relief package to the Lao government to help people in disaster-affected villages throughout the country rebuild their homes," Chinese Ambassador to Laos Bu Jianguo said at the ceremony, which was attended by Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Douangchay Phichit and other high level officials.
These concerns resulted in the suspension of the start of construction on four nuclear reactors that had already been approved. In 2011, no nuclear power projects were approved by the government.
