The rideshare company, which expanded into rentals, will cease its two-wheeled operations Sept. 19. Uber will continue to operate in partnership with Naval Base San Diego and Naval Base Point Loma. “We agree with local elected officials in San Diego who’ve said current micromobility regulations foster an unsustainable operating environment, which is why we’re ending our operations as of today. We look forward to working with the city to develop more sensible regulations,” a company spokesperson told 10News. "This is simply a market correction in an oversaturated industry that jeopardizes the safety of San Diegans and visitors. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Two tropical storms bearing down on the Eastern Pacific have forced a Norwegian Bliss cruise ship to abandon its original route and stop in San Diego.The stopover for the cruise ship came just before 7 a.m. Wednesday. The ship was originally scheduled to sail from Los Angeles to several ports in Mexico but was forced to change that route due to tropical storms Willa and Vicente.The new route has the cruise ship heading for San Francisco to San Diego to Ensenada, Mexico. The ship is scheduled to depart from San Diego at 6 p.m. Wednesday.Norwegian Cruise Line said in a statement that guests were alerted to the modified itinerary as soon as possible."Due to Hurricane Willa and Tropical Storm Vincente in the Eastern Pacific, we modified Norwegian Bliss’ itinerary from Los Angeles," the cruise line said. "Our onboard team is working to ensure the best vacation experience possible given these weather-related changes."Tropical storm Willa was downgraded from a Category 5 Hurricane Wednesday, but still made landfall with maximum sustained winds of 120 mph. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Traffic was backed up throughout the day Monday in Clairemont after a crash involving several vehicles. The crash happened just before 1 p.m. on Balboa Avenue near Albertine Avenue. According to San Diego Police, a 59-year-old man driving west on Balboa Avenue hit a raised median and crossed into the eastbound lanes of traffic. Police say he then hit a Jeep Patriot, causing it to slam into a Honda Civic and a Jeep Cherokee. Police say the driver of the Jeep Patriot sustained a fractured femur and was taken to the hospital. Her passenger also complained of pain. No one else was injured. The 59-year-old driver of the Nissan Frontier was arrested for DUI drugs. 695

SAN DIEGO (KGTV)- A trip to a dog park in Ocean Beach ended in a hospital visit for one San Diego couple.“I want her to go to jail, she assaulted my husband, and I’m angry about it,” said Ash O’Brien.O'Brien said she and her husband were at Dusty Rhodes Dog Park in Ocean Beach Thursday afternoon with their three-month-old puppy. They sat at a picnic table and began enjoying a meal when a woman reportedly confronted them for not wearing facial coverings and eating at the park where there is a no food policy.The confrontation ended with O’Brien’s husband being pepper-sprayed by the woman.“If we knew there was a no food policy, we wouldn’t have brought it into the park,” said O’Brien. “The lady who maced him automatically started saying stuff about us not wearing a mask when we were social distancing; there was no one near us.”O’Brien said that after exchanging words, the woman walked away from the picnic table but returned after a few minutes and did the unexpected.“She just came up without saying anything and just stuck the mace can right in front of my face,” said O’Brien.“My husband, being a good guy, walked in front of her and was like ‘hey calm down please don’t do this’ and then she grabbed him and just starting macing him, she used the entire can on him.”“We drove to the hospital, he got treated and everything,” said O’Brien.O’Brien said the pepper spray got on her arms and started to burn, while her husband was sprayed in the face.A witness captured part of the incident on camera and told ABC 10News she was shocked at what she was seeing. She recorded the woman’s license plate number.The couple filed a police report with the San Diego Police Department.
