President Donald Trump knew weeks before the coronavirus was confirmed to have reached the United States that the virus was dangerous and "deadly," while making public statements in which he downplayed the severity of the disease, according to audio files obtained by CNN.The audio files were made by journalist Bob Woodward, during several conversations with Trump in early 2020. Woodward is publishing a book about Trump later this month. The Washington Post also confirmed that Woodward's book contains reporting about Trump downplaying the severity of the virus.According to the audio files published by CNN, Trump told Woodward on Feb. 7 that the coronavirus was reported to have airborne transmission and that COVID-19 was more deadly than a "strenuous flu."That same day, Trump tweeted that he had a conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping, in which he claimed that China was running a "very successful operation," and that the virus would be "gone" once the weather gone warmer. (KGTV) -- The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is bringing attention to a 51-year-old unsolved murder.On May 1, 1967, 14-year-old Nikki Benedict was stabbed and left to die while walking home from her friend’s house in Poway.The family has gone 51-years without knowing what happened to Nikki. Both of her parents died without answers.Tuesday, one of her three surviving sisters was there with detectives bringing the case back up, hoping anyone with helpful information will come forward.An 11-year-old boy found Nikki suffering at 6:30 in the evening on the tragic day. Deputies and medics tried to save Nikki’s life, but she died after arriving at the hospital.When the crime happened, witnesses reported seeing a young man running from the scene. Investigators say almost every teenage boy in Poway was interviewed at the time but detectives found no connection.51-years later no one has yet been arrested for Nikki’s murder. (KGTV) - A North County gun store, Poway Weapons and Gear Range, is part of a group suing the state of California over a law which took effect earlier this year.The law makes it illegal to sell rifles and shotguns to anyone younger than 21. There are exceptions for military, law enforcement, and people with hunting licenses. It was already illegal for those under 21 to buy handguns.Store Director of Sales Danielle Rudolph tells 10News the lawsuit is about sticking up for their customers."The constitution protects anybody that’s an adult in the United States. An adult is 18,” she says.The state legislator who wrote the law says he was inspired to act by the shooting in Parkland, Florida, in which a man is accused of killing 17 students and staff members at a school while using an assault rifle. A similar weapon was used by the gunman in the shooting at the Chabad of Poway synagogue, which killed one person and injured three others.Supporters of the law say it's a common sense regulation to help keep guns out of the hands of those who should not have them.Rudolph says California already has the strictest gun laws in the country and that more aren't needed. She also says the law prevents her store from offering the gun safety and training programs for teens and children that are an important factor in creating a culture of responsible gun ownerships. (KGTV) - A Southern California officer was fatally shot and another officer hospitalized during a standoff with an armed suspect Friday.The officers, whose identities have not been released, were reportedly responding to a barricaded suspect at an apartment complex in the 1400 block of Palomares Street, according to ABC-affiliate KABC."It is with a heavy heart that I must report that one officer did not survive," Police Chief Michael Olivieri said on Twitter.
