BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Buffalo police have charged a woman with felony reckless endangerment and reckless driving for allegedly hitting a Niagara Square protester with a truck Wednesday night.The driver has been identified as 25-year-old Joanna Gollnau.Slow Roll Buffalo says 59-year-old Karen Huffman, who is a member of their board, was the person hit by Gollnau during those protests in downtown Buffalo.Protesters were rallying against racial injustice and eyewitnesses tell WKBW that the driver of the truck was shouting at protesters as she drove into the crowd.WKBW was at the scene at the time. BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Five people, including two elementary school students, were arrested after police investigated online threats made against another student. The Bloomington Police Department began investigating after a Fairview Elementary School representative notified police about a threatening Instagram video on Feb. 17. The video showed two students making threats and showing an AK-47-type weapon. One of the boys in the video made threats toward a female student and her brother. He said the gun was real and the two people were going to get "lit up," police say.In the investigation, police learned the threats were made after an argument about a dating relationship between the parties. Police then went to a house to locate the weapon in the video. At the house, a woman, Laquita S. Perry-Leverston, 33, went to the trunk of a car, where she retrieved the weapon and a pistol. Both were BB guns, police say. After a warrant was obtained, police began searching the house. One person in the house, a 17-year-old boy, told officers they weren't going to touch him, according to police. He began resisting and was arrested by officers. The 17-year-old was handcuffed and placed into a patrol vehicle, where he tried to kick out a window and threatened to kill an officer, police say.Two adults, Paris R. Leverston Sr., 37, and Laquita, became upset when the 17-year-old was arrested. According to Bloomington police, "Attempts were made to explain to her the reason why, but both adults continued to be loud and disruptive." Ben Watkins died at the age of 14 from a rare form of cancer, after capturing the country’s attention in 2018 competing on MasterChef Junior.Watkins reportedly died in a Chicago area children’s hospital Monday, according to the family’s attorney. Watkins had a rare illness called Angiomatoid Fibrous Histiocytoma. Only six people in the world have been diagnosed with it, according to the family.“Our Ben went home to be with his mother this afternoon after a year-and-a-half-long battle with Cancer. After losing both of his parents in September 2017, we have marveled at Ben’s strength, courage and love for life. He never, ever complained. Ben was and will always be the strongest person we know,” reads a statement from the family on a GoFundMe page for Watkins.Shortly before Watkins’ appearance on MasterChef, when he was just 11 years old, his parents both died in a murder-suicide in 2017. He was cared for by an uncle and family members, according to reports.Just after his 13th birthday, Watkins was diagnosed with the rare cancer, with a soft tissue tumor. Chef Gordon Ramsay posted his tribute to the young chef on social media. (KGTV) - A helicopter made a hard landing in the Anza-Borrego desert about three miles east of Borrego Springs in East San Diego County Monday, deputies said.Four people were on board the Robinson R-44 helicopter when it went down about 1:30 p.m., according to the San Diego Sheriff’s Office.Three people were treated at the scene, according to The Borrego Sun. Deputies said they had minor injuries.The helicopter is registered to Big Blue Corp of Las Vegas. 10News is working to confirm that it may have been operated by Big Blue Air, a tour company based in Palm Springs.
