SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A 4.9-magnitude earthquake and several smaller shakeups recorded in Imperial County on Wednesday were reportedly felt in San Diego County.The swarm of earthquakes was centered around the Westmorland area. While many of the smaller quakes were recorded between 2.5- and 3.7-magnitude, about 80 earthquakes measuring at least 2.5-magnitude were recorded between 4 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.The largest earthquake as of 5:45 p.m. registered at 4.9-magnitude, according to the agency's latest earthquakes map.Seismologist Dr. Lucy Jones tweeted that Wednesday's series of earthquakes was one of the largest swarms Imperial Valley has seen, adding that the area is historically active in swarms."The swarm happening now south of the Salton Sea, near Westmoreland is over 30 km south of the end of the San Andreas," Jones tweeted. "It is in the Brawley seismic zone, a common source of swarms. So far largest is M4.4. Too far from the San Andreas to change the probability of a quake on it." 1004

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A heartbroken local woman says her brother was killed in a Phoenix park while trying to 'protect his friends.'"He was infamous for making people laugh. He had a heart bigger than his being," said Amy Clark, Isaac Clark's sister. Last month, Isaac Clark, 23, moved from San Diego to Phoenix to be closer to his 4-year-old son. He had a job lined up doing event setup. Last Wednesday, Clark found himself in a park around 1 a.m. His sister Amy says he was checking on two friends, who had been evicted and were living in a car.Police say he heard a vehicle being vandalized, and headed toward the sound before realizing it was his friends' car. That is when the suspects approached Clark, sparking a fight. Clark was stabbed multiple times. He would die at the hospital."I feel like he died a hero. He tried to do the right thing. He was trying to protect his friends," said a tearful Amy Clark.Three people were arrested. Police say Maurice James, 24, and Eldon Sandoval, 18 are facing second-degree murder charges. A third person, Chantel Ben, 21, faces hindering prosecution chargers."They took my one-and-only sibling. They took my one-and-only baby brother from me," she said.An emotional vigil was held at that park a night after the incident. Clark's sister is haunted by their conversation about the violence in the world right before he left San Diego. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A broken water line in Tijuana sent a mixture of potable water and untreated sewage across the U.S.-Mexico border. The 7.8 million gallon spill, which started Sunday night at 7:30 p.m., was stopped Monday afternoon, according to a spokesperson from the International Boundary Water Commission.A spokesperson for the IBWC said the 16-inch potable water line broke near Agua Caliente Blvd. in Tijuana. The ruptured portion of the pipe has been repaired.Mexican water officials shut down Tijuana’s pump station because the water flow exceeded the station’s capacity, the IBWC said. “Water and untreated waste water continues to flow into the United States,” said IBWC officials.County Beach and Bay Monitoring Program staff members tell 10News the flow was stopped before it could impact local beaches and there is no risk at this time. 860

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A customer at a downtown flooring warehouse found a man dead inside the business Wednesday afternoon, according to San Diego Police.First responders arrived and performed CPR but could not resuscitate the man.According to police, homicide detectives were called to the 1000 block of G Street around 4 p.m. to investigate the death.Ghedeer "Tony" Radda, 49, the owner of the business, suffered traumatic injuries to the torso, according to Lt. Matt Dobbs, but it was unclear if he'd been shot or stabbed.Police said surveillance cameras captured two suspects running from the area. They have yet to determine a motive.Police said one of the suspects is a man seen wearing a mask resembling an older woman with gray hair. He was also wearing a gray jacket and dark pants. The second suspect is a woman last seen with purple hair police say may be a wig. She was also wearing a dark jacket and blue jeans. Radda leaves behind a wife and two young children.
