FALLBROOK (CNS) - Authorities Saturday were continuing to seek a driver who was involved in a crash with another car in Fallbrook early Friday then fled, was pursued by the other car's driver and escaped when the other driver was involved in a second crash.Officers said the driver of the Mustang was in critical condition at a hospital as a result of the crash.The dangerous chain of events began shortly before 9:40 a.m. when a brown SUV, possibly a GMC Envoy, and a Ford Mustang collided on southbound South Mission Road at Stage Coach Lane, just west of Fallbrook High School, according to information from CHP Officer Mark Latulippe.The "involved vehicles began to chase each other," Latulippe said, and the two cars initially headed south, but later turned around and continued north on South Mission Road.As the cars approached the intersection with Stage Coach Lane -- the same area where the first collision occurred -- a Honda CRV was also nearing the signal, heading west on Stage Coach.The SUV made it through the intersection, but the Mustang was struck by the CRV, which was heading into the intersection with a green light, Latulippe said.Another two cars, a Toyota Tundra and a Volvo V60, were also struck by the Mustang after the impact with the CRV.The driver of the Mustang, a 19-year-old Fallbrook man, suffered "major injuries" and was taken to Palomar Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition Friday night, Latulippe said.A female passenger in the Mustang, also 19, was being treated at Sharp Memorial Hospital for injuries described as minor.Drivers and passengers in the other cars involved in the second crash had complaints of pain, but no other injuries, according to Latulippe.It is believed the car involved in the initial crash is possibly an early 2000s GMC Envoy driven my a man. Its driver continued north on South Mission Road after the collision, and was last seen near Rocky Crest Road.The intersection of South Mission Road and Stage Coach Lane was closed for about an hour-and-a-half on Friday while officers investigated. 2085

ESPN host Jemele Hill's tweet calling President Trump a "white supremacist" earned a stinging rebuke from Trump's press secretary on Wednesday.From the White House podium, Sarah Sanders said Hill's criticism of the president was a "fireable offense by ESPN."It was a highly unusual moment -- a White House official seemingly recommending that a Trump critic be booted from a television network.Trump aides have pressured media executives about anti-Trump commentators in the past, but those complaints were made in private. This time it was on-camera for all to see.The briefing room exchange came two days after Hill went on a tweetstorm about Trump.Hill has been vociferously critical of the president all year long, but she went further this time, calling Trump a "bigot," a "threat" and "the most ignorant, offensive president of my lifetime."The tweet that garnered the most reaction said: "Donald Trump is a white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself w/ other white supremacists."Hill, an African American woman, followed up with this: "His rise is a direct result of white supremacy. ESCONDIDO, Cali. (KGTV) — A recently released video shows two burglars forcing their way into a hospice care nonprofit in Escondido.Jan Jones heads The Elizabeth Hospice. Its corporate offices sit on the third floor of an office building in the 500 block of La Terraza Blvd.  One day in July around 4 a.m., two people were recorded on surveillance video sneaking into the parking garage. Minutes later, they're at the main door of the nonprofit. One of the men tries the handle, but can't get in. Then they move onto another secure door, which requires a badge to open.Moments later, from a camera on the inside of the offices, the door is seen being yanked on over and over, before two men forced their way in.MAP: Track crime happening in your neighborhoodOne is wearing a hoodie. The other man is sporting a cap and a large backpack. They are seen going from room to room, raiding desks and shelves, and grabbing electronics. Then they split up and make their way out.  Among the items stolen are three laptops."No patient data, but they are used to provide the services we provide," said Jones.Also gone: A pricey camera used to make videos for critical training sessions."We care for people who are seriously ill, and we care for their families, and so anybody doing that would be heartless and should be brought to task. I think whoever did that has no soul," said Jones.The door the men damaged has been replaced by the landlord. The other damage is harder to undo. ESCONDIDO, Calif. (KGTV) -- Video shows a machete attack in Escondido that occurred earlier in February. According to Escondido Police, the attack happened on Maywood Street and Washington Avenue around 10:17 p.m. on February 12. Police say it appears three teenagers walking in the area were confronted with a machete-wielding man. RELATED: Man attacked by machete-wielding suspect in TalmadgeOne of the teens, a 16-year-old suffered cuts to his head and hand, both were non-life threatening, police say. (KGTV) - A local driver is warning of an unusual encounter with a dark SUV Saturday night on a North County freeway.Dashcam video captured on Interstate 15 shows an SUV with a light bar across the top. The driver tells 10News she initially thought it was a police vehicle and then spotted the back windshield, which was lit up by blue lights that resembled audio levels.Not long after, she says she heard a siren noise coming from that same SUV, as it approached a red light.MAP: Track crime in your neighborhood10News showed the video to CHP officer Jim Bettencourt who said he believes the blue light, the light bar, and siren are all vehicle code violations."If they were utilizing that to get people to move out of the way or caused a crash that would be another slew of charges," said Bettencourt.Bettencourt said because the SUV didn't have a symbol representing law enforcement, the driver wouldn't face an impersonating an officer charge. 972
