Andrew Cuomo who is now running for Manhattan borough president is accusing the Democratic governor of sexual harassment.Lindsey Boylan tweeted Sunday that she was sexually harassed by Cuomo "for years."Yes, @NYGovCuomo sexually harassed me for years. Andrew Cuomo has signed into law Thursday a bill that prohibits the sale of the Confederate flag and other "symbols of hate" at the New York State Fair, and bans the display of those items in public buildings.The bill was sponsored by state Sen. Alessandra Biaggi, D-Bronx, Westchester, and "prohibits the state of New York from selling or displaying symbols of hate or any similar image, or tangible personal property, inscribed with such an image unless the image appears in a book, digital medium, museum or serves an educational or historical purpose."According to the bill, a "symbol of hate" is defined as "symbols of white supremacist and neo-Nazi ideology or the Battle Flag of the Confederacy."The bill also empowers the Commissioner of the Department of Agriculture and Markets to prohibit the sale of "symbols of hate" at any other fairs in New York that receive federal, local or state funding."This bill would limit the display of the Confederate flag, as well as other symbols of hate, on or within the grounds of public property, including fairgrounds. NEW YORK (AP) — A judge has rejected a .5 million proposed bail package for Jeffrey Epstein's former girlfriend, saying her incarceration is necessary to ensure she faces trial on charges she recruited teenage girls for Epstein to sexually abuse. U.S. District Judge Alison J. Nathan rejected the proposed bail for Ghislaine Maxwell on Monday. According to The Associated Press, Maxwell and her husband, who has never been publically identified, offered their entire wealth - .5 million - plus millions more of friends and family's assets to secure her bail.But she did not immediately release an opinion explaining her reasoning. Maxwell was arrested in early July. She has remained at a federal lockup in Brooklyn ever since Nathan said there were no bail conditions that would ensure she would not flee. “For substantially the same reasons as the Court determined that detention was warranted in the initial bail hearing, the Court again concludes that no conditions of release can reasonably assure the Defendant’s appearance at future proceedings,” Nathan wrote Monday in the order.Nathan added that the government met its burden of persuasion that Maxwell poses as a flight risk.“In reaching that conclusion, the Court considers the nature and circumstances of the offenses charged, the weight of the evidence against the Defendant, the history and characteristics of the Defendant, and the nature and seriousness of the danger that the Defendant’s release would pose,” Nathan added.Epstein killed himself in August 2019 at a Manhattan federal jail as he awaited a sex trafficking trial. 1607

New York State has issued guidance on professional sports competitions as part of Phase Four of the New York Forward program.The state says professional sports can resume in the state, but with no fans."Ensure that no live audience, fans, or spectators are allowed to attend or permitted to enter any professional sports venue, even if an outdoor venue. Prohibit fans from congregating outside the venue and implement a security plan to safely disperse any individuals that gather outside of the venue," the guidance states.Several guidelines will also be in place for team staff, athletes and venue personnel such as:Maintaining six feet of distance whenever possible.Wearing appropriate face coverings whenever possible.Limiting the use of frequently shared spaces.Limiting the number of individuals on site at a given time.Ensuring all team staff, athletes, and venue personnel receive training on COVID-19 safety, proper hand hygiene, and cleaning and disinfection protocols.Limiting the sharing of objects.Providing and maintaining hand hygiene stations.Conducting regular cleaning and disinfecting of the venue and equipment.No sharing of food or personal items.Diagnostic testing for COVID-19 for all athletes and essential team staff with regular player access 48 hours before a competition.Daily health screenings for anyone entering the venue.The state says this guidance does not apply to collegiate sports, horse racing or auto racing.This article was written by Anthony Reyes for WKBW. 1506
