(Expletive) you for putting my life in danger," the prosecutor said.When officers responded to Davies' sixth-floor condo near the roof of the complex, a shot rang out from behind her door and an officer returned fire, according to Runyon.The prosecutor said officers retreated and more shots were fired at them and members of a SWAT team.Hours later, police observed a rifle, revolver and a magazine for a rifle being thrown out of the window where Colbert was holed up, Runyon said.After Colbert's arrest, officers found 17 expended casings and another rifle under a pile of clothes in the room, the prosecutor said.Even though traces of cocaine and methamphetamine were found in Colbert's system, and even though he had a history of mental health issues, the defendant knew what he was doing that day, Runyon said.Defense attorney Melissa Tralla told the jury that Colbert had a psychotic break and was paranoid and delusional. She said that days before, Colbert had called Davies at least 50 times and was not acting right.Colbert was rambling, saying he had special powers and was part of the New World Order, Tralla said.The attorney said Colbert was showing signs of mental illness by age 6, and was diagnosed with schizophrenia by age 15. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - County supervisors Wednesday unanimously approved the .1 million purchase of a nearly seven-acre parcel for a park in the community of Fallbrook.The 6.8-acre property, owned by Barr Ranch LLC, is located south of Fallbrook Road between Morro and Golden roads.Supervisor Jim Desmond, whose district includes Fallbrook, said the town doesn't have enough parks. He added the county will hold meetings with residents to see what kind of amenities residents would like included. He said some early requests include playgrounds and a skate park.Fallbrook currently has three local parks, providing 1 acre per 1,000 residents. That number doesn't meet the General Plan goal of 10 acres of local parkland for that same number of people.Money for the park purchase will come from a community development block grant, according to county documents. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - County health officials announced Wednesday they received reports of the county's third person to die of flu-related causes since the 2019-20 flu season began.The 80-year-old north county man died Nov. 1, according to the San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency. He had received this season's flu vaccine prior to his death and had additional medical conditions. Health officials received reports of this flu season's first death in August. The county also confirmed 58 flu cases last week, nearly double the 30 confirmed cases from the previous week. County health officials have already confirmed 420 flu cases this season, which corresponds with the county's fiscal year from July 1 to June 30. At this time last flu season, officials had confirmed only 157 cases.
