During the meeting, the two leaders vowed to cement and advance the two countries' traditional friendship forged during the revolutionary era, and augment cooperation in aspects ranging from economic exchanges, development strategies, party-to-party ties and coordination on international affairs.

Before the two countries set up diplomatic ties in January 1950, the relationship between the two communist parties had been established by late Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh and late Chinese Chairman Mao Zedong.

"The outcomes of this Summit will be beneficial to Africa. Africa has developed its own Agenda 2063 and we are here to align this cooperation with Africa's economic development agenda," the chairperson said.

China is ready to work with Japan to expand production-capacity cooperation and jointly conduct infrastructure construction cooperation in developing countries, Li added.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed cooperation in visa facilitation and crackdown on illegal immigration, as well as how to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the citizens of both countries.
