A university official said that Jerry Falwell Jr. has resigned as president of Liberty University Monday, according to media reports. But Falwell told a TV station in Virginia that he has not agreed to resign, and reports of his resignation are "completely false."Falwell was already on a leave of absence from the evangelical Lynchburg, Va school his father founded following a series of personal issues.Over the weekend, Falwell issued a lengthy statement disclosing the “emotional toll” an affair his wife had with a man was having on him. He says the man, identified by media reports as a former pool attendant and later a business partner of Falwell and his wife, threatened to reveal the relationship “to deliberately embarrass my wife, family, and Liberty University unless we agreed to pay him substantial monies.”In his statement, Falwell said he and his wife met the man she had an affair with during a vacation over eight years ago. The man was working at the hotel where the Falwells stayed, the statement said.“Shortly thereafter, Becki had an inappropriate personal relationship with this person, something in which I was not involved – it was nonetheless very upsetting to learn about,” Falwell said in the statement. A Marine lance corporal who marched at a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia last year has been kicked out of the service after he spent nearly a month jail.According to the Jacksonville Daily News in Jacksonville, North Carolina, Vasillios Pistolis, 19, was discharged from duty and kicked out of the Marine Corps on July 11. Pistolis was court-martialed on June 18 for an investigation into violations of Articles 92 and 107 of the Uniform of Military Justice.Among the violations covered in those articles are making "false statements," "failure to obey orders or regulations" and "dereliction of duty."Pistolis was sentenced to 28 days in confinement in the brig, a forfeiture of some of his paycheck and a reduction of rank.ProPublica and Frontline reported in June that Pistolis marched at the "Unite The Right" rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. Scripps news photographer loading cameras and other broadcast equipment into a wagon.Conservative commentators have alleged that the video shows a man wheeling a box of mail-in ballots into the TCF Center — a Detroit convention center where Michigan officials have been counting ballots. The conspiracy alleges that the ballots are arriving late, long after deadlines have passed.However, the video actually depicts a photographer at Scripps station WXYZ in Detroit, who used his own wagon to transport cameras and other broadcast equipment from the street down to TCF Center to get his shots.The misleading videos have appeared on Texas Scorecard, a website that describes itself as "relentlessly pro-citizen, unabashedly pro-liberty," and on the YouTube page of conservative commentator Steven Crowder.There is currently no evidence of widespread voter fraud in Michigan or in other parts of the country.This story was originally published by WXYZ in Detroit. 1074

A Middle Tennessee woman visiting Gatlinburg with her family got quite a surprise when she found a bear outside their hotel.  Kim Vastola, of Watertown was in Gatlinburg for her son’s baseball tournament and was staying on the first floor of a Quality Inn.Vastola was startled when she heard people yelling about a bear. She went outside and captured video of the bear on a tree behind the hotel before he made his way around the building.  Vastola said the person at the front desk told her the "town bear" – named Robert – was lurking around but there was no need to be alarmed.Apparently, “Robert” lives in the area and roams when he comes out of hibernation. No one was hurt.  723
