"By the grace of God, He kept me from losing my mind," said Viola Burton as she sat in the lobby of the G. Robert Cotton Correctional Facility in Jackson Monday waiting for her son. After 32 agonizing years, Viola's son, Danny, was being released from prison. "I knew in my heart that he couldn't kill nobody," she said.Anxiously waiting with Viola were attorneys Solomon Radner and Madeline Sinkovich from Excolo Law and Claudia Whitman of the National Capital Crime Assistance Network. Fifteen years ago, Danny Burton wrote a letter to Claudia, telling her about his case and that he was innocent. Claudia, who volunteers all of her time to investigate wrongful conviction cases, asked the attorneys to take a look at the case. The law team also investigated, talked to witnesses, and found a prisoner who would eventually sign an affidavit that named the real killers of the 1987 murder of Leonard Ruffin in Detroit."There was a lot of witness intimidation," said attorney Madeline Sinkovich, who added that young witnesses were mistreated by police to get statements. When a tearful Danny Burton walked out of prison, he gave his mother a long embrace. "I'm really shocked," Danny said while appearing to be in a state of disbelief. He wanted to see the rest of his family, but not everyone is still around. Danny's father died years ago from a heart attack. Viola said he just couldn't take the fact that his son was innocent but locked away. Danny's sister passed away last year. Before taking Danny to get some food - he requested McDonald's - his attorney took him to The Suit Depot in Oak Park where owner Marty Babayov, who heard about Danny's case, wanted to give him some new clothes, including suits for court. Danny now wants to help free other men he says are in prison for crimes they didn't commit. "A lot of them can't read or write to seek assistance," Danny said. Friday afternoon, a spokesperson for the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office released the following statement: 2003

....the Border, or large sections of the Border, next week. This would be so easy for Mexico to do, but they just take our money and “talk.” Besides, we lose so much money with them, especially when you add in drug trafficking etc.), that the Border closing would be a good thing!— Donald J. A FedEx driver ended up delivering people to an Atlanta emergency room after a shooting Monday.Police were called to the city's Edgewood area at around 6 p.m. for a report of a person shot, according to Atlanta Police Department Senior Officer TaSheena Brown. When they arrived, officers were told that three victims had flagged down a passing FedEx truck driver who agreed to take them to Grady Hospital, Brown said. A fourth person arrived at the hospital in a private vehicle, Brown said.FedEx spokeswoman Meredith Miller told CNN in a statement the company is proud of the driver."First and foremost, our thoughts remain focused on the well-being of those involved in this incident," she said. "FedEx Ground commends the quick action taken by this service provider employee and is proud of the many contributions that our team members and vendors make to our communities every day."Police believe the shooting victims were involved in a drug transaction before the shooting. All of the shooting victims are receiving medical care and are alert, Brown said. 1070

28-year-old Morgan Zembruski knows she's still young, so she looked at Botox as a preventative treatment."Just a little bit on the forehead, a little bit in the middle," she said.Almost six months ago, things took a bad turn. "I went to a Botox party with one of my girlfriends and they definitely overdid it," she said. "They put around 40 units in my forehead and pretty much froze my forehead solid."Zembruski said it was a very uncomfortable few months until it wore off. "There's like very little movement, " she said. "It froze eyebrows."She said lesson learned. Dr. Bonnie Gasquet-Johnson at the Wellness Jar said she's seeing people injured from these so-called Botox parties."It would be less than 20 units for the forehead area," she said. "So when she (Zembruski) got 40 units, that froze her solid."Dr. Gasquet-Johnson said you should ask what type of doctor it is, who they are, if they're experienced. Also, make sure you know someone who has had services done by the provider before. She also said to make sure it's someone you can return to.Dr. Gasquet-Johnson said you should make sure the product is in a purple Botox box."You want to make sure there is the hologram," she said. "This denotes it's a legit U.S.-made allergen, Botox product. Otherwise it could be fake, out of the country, older."Remember, she said, cheaper is not always better. "If it is too cheap, that is one of the indicators that maybe it's not either legit Botox, or maybe it has been watered down too much," she said. "What is the price? If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."Some doctors suggest that the person hosting the party should have a relationship with the provider. Make sure you've physically been in the office before. "I don't recommend fly-by-the-night hotel Botox parties," said Dr. Gasquet-Johnson. "Or, 'Hey, everyone come by for this networking. We have no idea who this is.'"Finally, be wary if the person doing the Botox doesn't want to engage."I have a dialogue with them, because I want to know what is their experience, and I want to know how many units I should bring," she said. "So, they should already have a relationship with the provider before the event.""It's fun, it's a good networking event," said Zembruski. "I just don't think it's worth it; they do it too fast, kind of churn people in and out." 2350
