(AP) — False claims are spreading online about an election tech company this week after many social media users interpreted a clerk's error in Michigan as vote-rigging because it wrongly favored Joe Biden before being fixed. Posts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram claim without evidence that prominent Democrats have deep ties to Dominion Voting Systems, the company that supplies election equipment to Michigan and at least 30 states nationwide. Claims that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Sen. Dianne Feinstein, and the Clinton Foundation have interest or influence in Dominion are all unsubstantiated. Dominion did not respond to a request for comment on these claims.Dominion made a one-time philanthropic commitment at a Clinton Global Initiative meeting in 2014, but the Clinton Foundation has no stake or involvement in Dominion’s operations, the nonprofit confirmed to the AP. A former aide to Pelosi has represented Dominion as a lobbyist, but so have lobbyists who worked for Republicans. SAN MARCOS, Calif. (KGTV) - A San Marcos family is dealing with an unbearable loss. The Houghton family was involved in a horrific crash that killed their 13-year-old son, Bryce, Saturday night on the 405 in Orange County. The family of five was headed to San Luis Obispo to visit relatives, according to Michael Houghton. Their 17-year-old daughter was driving, when their van began to slow down. Michael says it seemed like it was running out of gas. It stopped in the HOV lane. Michael, his wife, and three kids decided to stay in the van buckled up and call for help. While they waited for 911 and a tow truck, CHP says a pickup truck slammed into the van. Another vehicle hit the pickup truck after the initial crash. The CHP arrested the driver of the pickup truck on suspicion of DUI. Officers said the driver of the pickup had major injuries. Four people in the third vehicle received minor injuries. Michael described his youngest son as a jovial person who loved to make people smile. “Short in stature but big in personality,” Michael said. “One of the things he loved the most was to make people happy.” The Houghton’s other two children, 15-year-old Mason, and 17-year-old Carissa, received minor injuries, though Mason will be on crutches, according to his dad. Michael’s wife, Gael, needed surgery. Michael received injuries to the back of his head, and injuries to his eye that had previously undergone a procedure. The family was very involved with Anthem Church in Vista, as well as Bread of Life Rescue Mission in Oceanside. The Houghtons had organized an event for the homeless on the Saturday before the crash.  A Girl Scout leader in Beaverton, Oregon was at the right place at the right time.Diane Bauer said she was at a Fred Meyer store on Wednesday when her teenage daughter Charlotte noticed a mother in distress at few aisles over.Bauer said her daughter was pointing to a baby a mother was holding – and realized the 5-week-old infant was not breathing.That's when the CPR-certified Girl Scout leader dropped everything and ran over to help.Bauer said she took the baby, told the cashier to call 911, and gave the newborn CPR.“The only room that was available was the little check writing stand,” said Bauer. “Those breaths started to go in and I continued until he came to, and in the meantime the mom was calling 911.”Soon, Bauer said she felt the baby's little heartbeat. After a few more breaths, the baby was alert and breathing on his own again.“Had the mom hold his hand, stroked his face and he kind of turned and nuzzled towards her like he was hungry,” said Bauer.Bauer said she and her daughter stayed until paramedics arrived.She credits her daughter for recognizing that the baby had stopped breathing.Bauer said she had just finished the CPR recertification at her job last month. 1204
