(KGTV) — A man taken into custody last week after he was involved in a San Marcos crash and authorities discovered a dead body in his pickup truck has been arrested for murder and turned over to Anaheim Police.Anaheim Police say Abdulaziz Munther Alubidy, 30, was booked into Anaheim Detention Facility and is being held without bail.The San Sheriff's Department says Alubidy was involved in a crash just after 4 p.m. late Friday at San Marcos Boulevard and Rancho Santa Fe in San Marcos. When deputies responded and looked inside his Toyota Tundra pickup truck, they discovered the body of 56-year-old Jessie Villesca of Anaheim.RELATED: One person is dead after car crash in San MarcosDeputies said Villesca's injuries indicated she was murdered. Alubidy was detained at the scene.Anaheim Police were contacted after deputies say they found evidence indicating Villesca had been killed near W. Corporate Way and N. (CNN) -- Maui residents who evacuated their homes because of a wildfire are allowed to return, the County of Maui announced Friday on Facebook.But Maui County Mayor Michael Victorino cautioned that, "This fire is still an active threat to our community, and residents are urged to remain vigilant of changing conditions," in the same post.Firefighters will continue to monitor the blaze that has consumed an estimated 10,000 acres of fallow former sugar cane and dry brush, according the county.The fire was reported Thursday morning at 10:42 a.m. local time near the intersection of Waiko Road and Kuihelani Highway.The County of Maui activated its Emergency Operations Center in the morning. By afternoon, the flames were burning out of control and emergency officials sent a mobile alert warning nearby residents to evacuate.More than 600 people fled as the blaze scorched 3,000 acres, the mayor's office said. The Maui Humane Society moved its animals in crates and kennels to a nearby high school.Helicopters were grounded after sunset, and they are expected to return to making air drops after sunrise, according to a news release from the county.Oprah Winfrey has a home in the county, and tweeted a local resident to confirm that she's given officials fighting the fire access to her private road. (KGTV) - A San Diego oceanographer helped solve the 74-year-old mystery of a missing World War II B-24 Bomber that disappeared in the Pacific Ocean.The crew of the plane “Heaven Can Wait” was on a mission to bomb Japanese anti-aircraft batteries in March 1944 when it was shot down by enemy fire.For decades, the plane’s location and the remains of the 11 troops on board were unknown. Project Recover, which finds the underwater resting places of fallen Americans, worked with family members who wanted closure for their lost relative.Eric Terrill of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at University of California, San Diego, led the team of marine scientists, archaeologists, and volunteers. They started the project in October 2017.The group used scanning sonars, high-definition imagers, advanced diving, and unmanned aerial and underwater robotic technologies. They also tracked data including historical eyewitness narratives from official military reports, mission documents, and diary entries from crew members on other aircraft in formation with the B-24 during its flight.The search for “Heaven Can Wait” covered nearly 27 square kilometers of sea floor. 11 days after the search started, the group found the wreckage under 213 feet of water on the north shore of Hansa Bay, off Papua New Guinea. "This is an important step toward our ultimate goal of identifying and returning home the crew of 'Heaven Can Wait' who bravely served our country during the battle at Hansa Bay," said Dan Friedkin, team member of Project Recover and chairman and CEO of The Friedkin Group.
