The report — citing “people close to the process” — notes that Amazon is in discussions about how quickly it can move employees to the region, possible buildings it could occupy and how the announcement will be made to the public.
And those cloud profits are a big reason Amazon has the financial license to spend what Bezos says could be an additional billion coping with the crisis in the current quarter.
Analysts said it still remains to be seen whether the license can save Yidao given its rocky relationship with drivers and the strict operating rules.
