SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Two men wearing masks and gloves robbed a City Heights jewelry store Friday.One of the men jumped a display counter and confronted an employee of the Eclipse Jewelry Store at 4213 University Ave. just east of Interstate 15, police said.One man took jewelry from display trays and put it in a bag while the second man pointed a gun at the employee.The owner told 10News the men got away with about ,000 worth of mostly gold chains. He also said he thought perhaps the men had been in the store before since they seemed to know exactly what they wanted. Both men ran off and were last seen getting into a silver colored late model Toyota or Honda heading east.No one was injured in the robbery. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Witnesses say a woman was driving at least 100 mph before she crashed into a power pole in the Oak Park area and died early Sunday morning.The crash happened in the 2000 block of 54th Street around 1:30 a.m.According to witnesses, the woman was traveling at approximately 100 mph when she struck a curb, skidded out of control and hit a power pole.The 33-year-old became pinned inside the vehicle after the crash. Firefighters had to use the jaws of life to cut the woman out of the vehicle.The woman died at the scene due to her injuries. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Two men convicted of leading a home-invasion robbery spree with five other people were sentenced to prison terms Friday.A judge sentenced 26-year-old Thomas James Smith to 85 years plus 50 years to life in prison and 22-year-old Aaron Rico III to 35 years plus 25 years to life in prison for their roles the series of violent break-ins.Smith and Rico were convicted of conspiracy to commit burglary, robbery, burglary and sexual assault in June. The violent crime spree began on January 23. The series of crimes included breaking into homes, tying up and assaulting homeowners, and in one case, sexually assaulting a woman. RELATED: 680

  

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - With over 10,000 employees worldwide, software company Teradata is making San Diego its global headquarters.They're growing the current Rancho Bernardo office by 65,000 sq/ft, equipping it with amenities designed to attract high-tech talent.The upgraded campus features a fitness center, yoga/pilates room, spin studio, fresh-ground coffee machines, new whiteboards, and play spaces featuring games like shuffle board and foosball.In the headquarters unveiling Monday, executives also revealed the company's new branding and logo.They plan to work with partners like UC San Diego to recruit top talent to the company.Teradata was previously headquartered in Dayton, OH, employees there were offered relocation packages.Teradata plans to hire 200 more employees in the coming months, bringing its San Diego workforce total to over 1,000. 863
