A bronze statue of the late United States Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will be unveiled in Brooklyn next year.According to a press release, the statue will permanently reside at the City Point development in downtown Brooklyn and unveiled on March 15, which would have been the late justice's 88th birthday."In her lifetime, Justice Ginsburg championed countless crucial causes. This statue is just a small reminder that we all need to set the highest possible standards for ourselves and society," Chris Conlon, EVP and Chief Operating Officer of Acadia Realty, said in the release. "From the people who work here, to the diverse shoppers and shopping at City Point, everyone feels welcome, equal, and respected. We are honored to have this great statue grace our property, and to bring Justice Ginsburg's 'path marking' spirit back to Brooklyn to inspire us for generations."Artist duo Gillie and Marc design the statue as part of their "Statues for Equality" series, which have already installed 10 sculptures of women around New York City. "The final statue, which she endorsed, reflects her wish to be depicted in a dignified manner." A Las Vegas family watched in horror from a Florida hotel room as their home was broken into Friday.From 2,000 miles away, Kenneth Kochman woke up to a heart-stopping notification on his phone."We got our Ring camera system up and we actually saw these guys burglarize our home live," says Kochman.From their hotel room in Orlando, Kenneth and his fiancée Melinda Piccirilli watched in disbelief as two men walked around the backyard of their home.The video clearly shows one of the burglars using a rod to knock down the surveillance camera just before breaking in.The family was concerned that the crooks were inside and may have harmed their three Chihuahuas."I knew they were trapped in a little area so if they wanted to get them or take them, or [possibly] get mad at them, take them or hurt them; you don't know what people are going to do," Piccirilli said.The two got back to Las Vegas on Sunday – thankful to find their dogs unharmed. A bus carrying 50 people overturned in northern Mississippi on Wednesday afternoon, killing two on board, ABC News reported citing a local coroner. According to ABC News, heavy sleet coated roadways in the area, which may have been a factor in Wednesday's accident. Interstate 269 was closed in both directions near the site of the crash. WREG-TV reported that 46 people were on board the bus at the time of the accident. The bus was chartered in a route from Huntsville, Alabama to Tunica, Mississippi. 531

A family is grieving after their loved one died when her home collapsed during a tornado in Kentucky."It's just like it flattened everything," Tammy Brown said.Brown said she is devastated and in disbelief after the force of a tornado brought down her parent's home on Dot Road in Logan County."He lost everything in 12 minutes," Brown said.She visited them just moments before the tornado struck."I mean, I left here yesterday at 3:15 p.m., and this place was picture perfect," Brown said. "And you look at it today, and you've got metal in all the trees. They've been walking around in the fields, and they went all the way to the river and they were finding my daughter's toys."Dallas Combs, 79, who went by Jane, was inside the home when it collapsed."Dad's not coping… he was the one that found her," Brown said.John Combs was outside putting down sandbags when the tornado hit."So when it took the roof off, it sucked him back through the basement, so he immediately went up the steps, and he started calling for her," Brown said. "He moved a big thing of bricks, and he knew the minute he saw her she was gone."The woman he loved was taken from him. They had lived in that home for 30 years."All he can tell me is, 'The love of my life is gone' and 'I can't live by myself because I've never been by myself,'" Brown said.Jane and John were just months away from celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary."She was a very Christian woman, and her last words to you every single time was, 'I love you.'
