LIMA, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping published a signed article in the leading Peruvian newspaper El Comercio under the title "Join Hands to Fulfill Centenary Dreams and Strive for New Progress in Cooperation" on Thursday, ahead of his state visit to the Latin American country.
Xi's state visit to Ecuador on Thursday and Friday is the first by a Chinese president since the two countries established diplomatic ties 36 years ago.
China is open to the initiative of establishing a SCO free trade zone and is willing to work with other parties to conduct relevant feasibility studies and actively explore a more comprehensive, closer and more efficient regional economic cooperation framework, said the premier.
Facts have shown that cooperation is the only correct choice for the two countries, he said.
This is Xi's third visit to the region since he took office in March 2013.
