A suspect has been arrested in the package bombing at a church in Beaumont, Texas, as well as a bomb found outside a Starbucks coffee shop that did not detonate, authorities said Friday.Jonathan M. A man was arrested after he broke into a Long Island home posing as a Nassau County police officer Friday evening.Robert White, 48, forced his way into the victim’s second floor bedroom apartment around 6:30 p.m., police said.When he entered the apartment, he told the victim, 21, he was an officer and was there to collect rent money. He threatened the victim would be arrested if he did not comply, authorities said.The victim handed White an undisclosed amount of money, police said.White was later taken into custody and was charged with second-degree burglary, two counts of grand larceny and criminal impersonation. 629

A student was taken into custody Friday after a shooting at a Noblesville, Indiana, middle school left three people injured, officials said.Noblesville police Chief Kevin Jowitt told reporters that a teacher and a student were taken to hospitals with injuries from the shooting at Noblesville West Middle School. But hospital officials said at least three people, including one adult, were being treated. One student had an ankle fracture.Jowitt said the shooting in the city of 60,000, about 25 miles northeast of Indianapolis, was reported shortly after 9 a.m.A student asked for permission to leave the classroom and "he returned armed with two handguns," Jowitt said at an afternoon news conference.The situation was quickly resolved, and the student was arrested in or near the classroom, police public information officer Lt.
